Right now it's "Ricochet" by The Madeira, not that I do it justice but it's fun as hell to play!

There are so many great surf tunes, but my favorite is still "Mr. Moto." I love the melody and the vibe. Cool

My current fave is "S.P.Y.D.A.'s Web" by Laika and the Cosmonauts

Well - currently, I have a few "singles" that made it into my fingers:

Space Cossacks "Defector", "Red Sunrise" and "Exolumina"
Madeira's "Secret Route" and "El Caliph"
Laika and the Cosmonauts "Night in Tunisia" and "Floating"
Los Straitjackets "Sing Sing Sing" and "Tailspin" (good endurance test)
Ventures "Flashback" and "Rock Concerto in A Minor"

Enough already..

Well fellers I'm working on Glamour Boy by the Guess Who a melody I've always loved so I'll say, that for now.

This was a terrible answer. My single favorite song to play is Green Acres, Bonanza and Dixie.

"Pipeline" by the Chantays. It never gets old to me. Cool

Misirlou!

Gabe

Our beaches here get 3 foot tall waves, but it doesn't matter. You don't need to surf to play surf.

Love to play Jack the Ripper by Link Wray. Just sit there trying to guess when he's gonna change chord as it's a bit unpredictable. That's why it's cool. I get bugged by guys who simplify the timing of the chords and make it obvious. Plus, too many YT videos of guys murdering Rumble. Learn it like it was written and experiment

Gotta say La'tinia

I was messing about with making parts of that an alternate middle 8 to Misirlou

My favorite (and my band's favorite) to play for the pleasure of playing it is "And Suddenly You Run" originally recorded by Laika and the Cosmonauts on their Zero Gravity album. We changed some of the melody, the bridge is improvised, and there are no tempo changes or pauses as in L+TCs version. It has a a strong beat but is also expressive, maybe that's why we like it.

Our favorite to play for audiences is "Shootout" from our "Guitar Fun" album. It clearly tells a story and the audience gets it.

Very cool, that should work really well. I like to use the "Malaguenia" section (Sentinels version) for some spanish style solo noodling. I may "borrow" your idea. Big Grin

I've been trying to figure out Atomic Mosquitos 'Alien Roundup'; love that intro. The entire song is damned cool, though.

For me it's a 3-way tie between Chronosurf by the Tomorowmen, Longboard Legato by Slacktone, or Ewa on the Beach by Frankie & the Pool Boys.

CUTBACK

Invasion of the Reverb Snatchers by Bambi Molesters. I actually play rhythm on this one and cover the horn parts.

Super fun.
