Recently recorded these tracks with my fender duo sonic and Univox Hi Flier Phase 3. Looking for some opinions, critiques, and ideas to keep improving and create a tighter surfier sound in the end. A lot of them have a clean reverby quentin Tarrantino movie vibe and others have a slightly crunchier guitar. Hope you guys enjoy these tracks

Well, I'll be real honest with you. I kinda dig it! Keep doing it!

Cool

You really need to pan the bass in the center; it's very odd on the right channel only.

Good musical ideas, but it feels like the mix is overly compressed.

Thanks for sharing. You have some cool stuff here. If you're looking for input on how to make it surfier, I have two suggestions. One is to focus your attention mainly on the drums. They don't sound like surfin' drums. Not that they're bad--it's just that they're more like regular rock drums.

Along those lines--and I'm coming from a very traditional surf music standpoint--the bass guitar is very modern sounding and dominant. You might try lowering it in the mix and also just simplifying the lines. Again, it's not that it sounds bad in what you've shown us--it certainly doesn't--it just doesn't have a surfy feeling to my ear. Your guitars do, though, so if you "surf up" the drums and bass I think it'll make a big difference.

Thank you guys. Yes i understand that the mix and the drums are a little off Im working off of garageband and they dont exactly have the best surf drums as its a drum machine with only a few variables. The bass was put like that for the purpose of it sounding different than most traditional stuff was really trying to get a good mix of the old and the new. In the future Ill definitely try harder to nail down a few of those issues
