11g flats. D'addario are plentiful and reliable. Labella have a more prestigious name but aren't as consistent imo, and everything else is too fancy for me. |

Recently switched from Webstrings 11g flats to the D'addario Half Rounds. Since I'm down to only 2 guitars Last edited: Apr 21, 2017 09:31:05 |

Regular, round wound D'Addario .010's I don't subscribe to the idea that there is a "right" or "best" string for Surf or any other kind of music. We all sound a bit different when we play so whatever works for you to be able to create your music is the ticket, to my way of thinking at least. Cheers, http://www.facebook.com/CrazyAcesMusic |

Following the Dick Dale "format" your answer is probably: the biggest/heaviest gauge that your fingers can tolerate! Last edited: May 25, 2017 10:24:51 |

I use flat .010's on my tele, but I use a plain "G", rather than wound. Works for me. —Otto & The Ottomans |

Just for the record, I don't adhere to my own advice (ie: Dick Dale & heavy gauge strings) because I play many different music styles, so my strings are a compromise: Fender 1550 pure nickel ground-wound (11, 15, 22w, 32, 40, 48) |
