Permalink The Madeira on Aussie radio on Friday, April 14th

Due to unceasing efforts of an Aussie fan of ours by the name of Garry Roach, our song "The Argonaut" (co-written with Jim Skiathitis, lead guitarist of the legendary Aussie surf band The Atlantics) from the 2015 album "Ancient Winds" will be aired on Australian radio in 12 days! The details:

Friday, 14th of April!, 5.00-7:00 PM Sydney time
"Cosmic Cowboy Cafe" hosted by Eddie White
http://www.cosmiccowboycafe.com.au/
streaming live www.2rrr.org.au
(www.tunein.com or download free TuneIn app)

It's a Texas-music/country show, but every show Eddie the DJ plays something completely different - and you can't get much more different than "The Argonaut"! Smile Unfortunately, the time of the show converts to 3-5 am EDT in the US on that Friday, but if you're in Australia or Europe, please tune in, check it out, and spread the word!

I wish you luck Ivan. A friend of mine had the same opportunity and reaped a healthy reward! I could tell you the story if you're interested.

Ivan, that's great news! Cheers

When I say friend he is someone I've met on several occasions. An interesting guy especially on the subject of music and a known folk guitarist/singer/composer in local folk clubs here on the Hampshire/Surrey border. At the time he was in his 50s and had a very responsible day job (underline the word responsible). Out the blue he decided to make an electric based studio album using session musicians, he took the band out for a few gigs and after that it was like his ambition accomplished and he could sit back and watch and the learn the process of record sales. The record sales were better than expected! Who was buying them all? It turned out a DJ in Australia was playing the heck out of his record on his radio show! Big Grin

About a year later he recorded a track called "That's War", uploaded a video to YouTube and almost immediately the phone started ringing again, this time from Billy Bragg offering an American tour!

As far as I know he never took up any offers, I guessing he was just more than pleased his music was appreciated.

Wow!! That is VERY cool! Quite the stroke of luck. I guess you never know what can happen - though I'm definitely not holding my breath. Smile Thanks for the interesting story!

One more reminder - happening in about 14 hours! Smile I'm told the song will be played around 6:30 pm local time. Here are all the details once again from the top of this thread:

The Madeira song "The Argonaut" (co-written with Jim Skiathitis, lead guitarist of the legendary Aussie surf band The Atlantics) from the 2015 album "Ancient Winds" will be aired on Australian radio tomorrow!

It's a Texas-music/country show, but every week Eddie the DJ plays something completely different - and you can't get much more different than "The Argonaut"! Not expecting many Americans to tune in Smile , but if you're in Australia or Europe, please check it out!
