Thanks, Don and Wes! I deeply appreciate your words of encouragement. I'll fill the prescription as soon as possible.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Here's an update for those interested in how the move back to Forest Hills has been working out.

We've been to more museums, galleries, concerts, and other activities in the last few months than in many years where we used to live. This isn't chasing shiny things. There's just so much more to do here which are vastly easier to do. We've gone to the ballet, the 120th Anniversary concert of The Pittsburgh Symphony, Carnegie Museum and Fine Arts Gallery, the Heinz History Museum, Heinz Science Center, had a VIP tour of the Pirates' PNC Park, and will see the Bucs beat Detroit there on April 14.

And we're accomplishing our primary goal of ensuring our daughter has the best, happiest future possible. Having family here helps a lot.

Henry has passed his one-year anniversary in the Navy.

The house needed more work than anticipated. So starting in about four to six weeks, the renovation will begin in earnest. Roof, kitchen, baths, garage roof, etc., will be redone as necessary within the next nine to twelve months. The house will be as good as new.

Check's in the mail!

Noel,
It's great to hear that your lives are being enriched because of your move.
Sounds like a win for the entire family.
Wonderful.

Cheers,
Jeff

Yeah, this is a really cool update. Considering all the good things that have been fostered by the move, I'd say (forgetting renovation)"Mission Accomplished." Great news!
Cool

Check...? (I can't wait to wear mine as an actual outer garment.)

As I continue not to be on here as much as I would love to be, and I miss everyone here, things are proceeding on other fronts. Nick, who's dad built the house when he wasn't working at Westinghouse, Stopped by to reminisce, shared lots of stories of growing up here. After extensive pruning, the house has a new look, and really shows off the original mid-century living room windows.

Henry is an E3 now, though the picture shows him as an E2. He's working hard toward Chief.

Corradina has really come into her own on her new Miracle League baseball team. In her most recent game, from her usual spot beside the coach pitcher, she threw out two runners, including one at home to prevent a score, went 3 for 3 hitting outfield singles for 3 RBIs, and she scored once. Better yet, she's making nice friends! And she continues to enjoy Pittsburgh as her future takes shape. I don't think Cory's ever been happier!

Getting to the Convention, where I saw and met so many old friends, and made lots of new ones, is icing on the cake. It's been quite a year.

Thanks for being part of it!

Noel, thanks for the cool update. Isn't it nice when real life trends better than world economics?

Henry has quite a few 25-meter targets to punch on his way to Chief, but he has "the look" - it's a thing in the eyes other old busted up warhorses can see. Go Henry!
Cool

Obviously you're out instrument shopping. How does that sound with reverb?

It's been since what, mid-2015?, since I played any music through my PA. But tonight I plugged in a just purchased dbx goRack Performance Processor (Sweetwater, $29.99 including shipping) emptied out half my instrument closet to get to the box of cables I put under a shelf at the very back, plugged in my CD player, and cranked that sucker right up!

What'd I play? Essential Reventlos by The Reventlos. Terrific album BTW! More good news? It could just barely be heard outside ten feet away, so I have a lot of extra volume I can put out.

The setup is temporary. I need longer PA cables to reach the turntable and CD player). But the best news is this means I'm a lot closer to start playing guitar again. I just got to get the six living room chairs upstairs into the living room, so there's room to play.

So... why didn't I just use my Scarlett? I haven't found it yet! This is not the first, second, third, or fifteenth time we've bought something after the move which we already own because we couldn't find it in time. Sheesh!

I know that feeling. When we sold the old house, my stuff ended up in storage for close to a year.

I couldn't find any cables for a year. Whoever moved them in put them in an upstairs closet.

I couldn't find any of my lapidary equipment for 3 years. It was buried under a bunch of boxes of my wife's stuff in the basement.

I couldn't find any of the sheet music I'd written for 4 years. It was in the bottom of another box that I had to empty out first.

There's still stuff I can't find. And now the children are old enough to move stuff themselves...

Yep! And how did all this stuff get so much heavier and more difficult to carry since the last time? Big Grin

The following events have happened very quickly. Introducing Petty Office MA3 Henry Squitieri, who also happens to have just gotten engaged to a wonderful young woman named Jill. And he's here for a short visit before he goes on a long-term overseas deployment.

Right now I'm so happy I don't care one whit about having to strip bare my music room a week after getting a project started. Hooyah!

I like the pic in the mirror (backward uniform tell). And I like the pic of them with her wearing his dog tags.
Cheers
