SSS, LOL, no problem. I absolutely hate the color pink and some iterations of Fiesta Red are way too pink-ish for me. Here's a picture of the bass I bought (on the left) compared with the seller's uber-expensive Fender Custom Shop Pino Palladino Precision which, to me, is....pink. Even the Custom Shop doesn't always get it right.

I know that some people manage to use this Yamaha overdriven, but mine just becomes noisy and loses all the sound density, may be it's just my problem(

I surely read them all! And still think this is not the guitar for overdrive, may be just the slight one. Nevertheless it's a great guitar for classic clear surf tones and also got killer looks and playability)

Hmmm... I have three SGV300s. I played the SGV300 in the last weeks at several gigs with Kilaueas. It always sounded great. On SGV300 I use 10-46 strings meanwhile! I guess those guitars are not made for thicker strings, like Mosrites or similar? For Surf I play it with neck and bridge pickup. Whatever, yesterday I played also a SGV300 in my 2nd band, its a punkband, loud and dirty. I play it through a Marshall amp. And it sounds amazingly good! Here I play it constantly with single bridge pick up.
So, what do mean with "overdrive"? A special sound or pedal? Or just a cranked up amp?

There is no "ONE GUITAR" for any style. I love Strats (had a JM as my first good guitar because the Strat I wanted got sold) but I'm about to buy a Jaguar. Why? You can't plug a Jordan Bosstone into the top of a Strat. I figure I'll pimp it out with flatwounds and I won't have to change my Strat.

This is my first post. Some guys from the TDPRI suggested that I come over. I like what I see so far!

All opinions expressed by this poster are well thought out and based on actual experience and/or scientific experimentation, except for those which are knee-jerk reactions or good sounding fantasies.

I like a lot...

Here are my two favorites:

1) 1966 SG Jr
2) 2015 Squier VM Jaguar...

NOTE: I've played AVRI Jag's, and the Squier is VERY close...I feel no need to upgrade the pickups even, but if I did, it would still be much cheaper than the AVRI....

NOTE II: I have to admit I"ve considered selling it to help fund an AVRI. I still would love a USA one. ;)

NOTE III: I had the Olympic white one originally, but sold it to help fund the 66...when I bought the new one, I got the CAR. Which do you prefer?

I'm definitely facing a conundrum. My two six strings that I play regularly are a baritone Telecaster (partscaster), and a 1976 Fender Stratocaster, but it's a hardtail. I need to find a guitar with a bit more wiggle. It's time to start looking around.
