Loved them! What a great band, such a distinctive sound.

I'm now revisiting... Death.
Their lyrics are much less stupider than most metal, and the singing was only half embarrassing, the other- honest. The Bass was buried somewhat in the studio records, and chuck's vocals and guitars were so loud (Marshall solid state). Still, luckily some of their instro mixes are available. How incredible that band was. Some would say, and I'd agree, the best ever.

Just arrived. Cool

Enjoying the "Seasonal Favorites" Vol. 4 from Double Crown (thanks Sean!).
This one, plus a couple others, are going to be looping alot "all through the house, whether creatures are stirring" or not. Which means we also get a double helping of Martin Cilia's Christmas in July, which is simply lovely & the wife digs alot.

Ho-Ho-Ho! Cool

Surfer Joe & Band live at KFJC - California 2016 !!!

I just love Lorenzo's style of playing. When I saw him earlier this year, I couldn't see him up close, but I heard his INCREDIBLY beautiful tremolo picking. In watching this video, I see that Lorenzo picks an awful lot of downstrokes unless he's tremolo picking or just going too fast and then he alternate picks as one might expect.

Does this aspect of Lorenzo's picking specifically contribute to the quality of his tremolo? I thought it might since downstroke picking nearly everything means he's essentially always moving his hand at tremolo speed when he's playing at high velocity.

Maybe Surfer Joe would comment? Smile
