This post just reminded me of someone else: TSOL.

Does anyone care for the movie Suburbia (1983)? TSOL, DI, and the Vandals...

I couldn't get into any of it except the live performances, which were great. Especially the Vandals with Steve-O (RIP) on vocals--Joe Escalante looks like he's all of ten years old.

I'm assuming everyone here who's into TSOL is into the Jack Grisham one and not the hair metal one, right?

-Warren

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

I was never really into TSOL, but I liked the logo and LP covers,
I did see the hair metal version, when I went to see Guns N Roses,
at the Celebrity Theater here in Anaheim.

Did you like Tender Fury too? ;)
I played "Code Blue" for JP and he was diggin' it.

===>I watched Suburbia when I was in college--must have been
more than 15 years ago. I don't remember a whole bunch about it,
other than a scene where some punks get thrown out of a funeral
for one of their own. Reminded me of a more depressing version
of The River's Edge (if that's at all possible).

Noooooo future! Indeed!

Is this something you can share with the rest of us, Amazing Larry?!?

Vincent - I had the pleasure of seeing the reunion show. Mary (Dinah Cancer) had Rikk Agnew playing, so that was quite interesting. "Surfbat" was a cool tune, but my favorite song by 45 Grave is "Evil." I have a not-so-great video I took last time I saw them (I think this was January this year) on Youtube:

As for a genre, we referred to that as deathrock.

-Kristena

===>Yeah, deathrock! I've also heard it referred to as ghoul rock.
But great stuff, nonetheless!

Btw, why didn't the rest of 45 Grave get back with Dinah???

===>Didn't The Meatmen (a totally politically incorrect offshoot of
Minor Threat) do a song called "TSOL Are Sissies"??? Laughing

HA! Reminds me of another great one. Did you ever see Another State of Mind? This is the documentary of Social Distortion and Youth Brigade on tour in the early years. It's funny. When going through D.C., they stop at the Dischord House. At this point, there is some Minor Threat footage and clips of Ian MacKaye working at Haagen-Dazs. Laughing
