Permalink Any Fulltone OCD love on here?

Man I love this transparent boost/overdrive. Excellent at retaining your original tone. No bass cut whatsoever. So far I really dig the OCD and it's the best I've used on my surf rigs.

I've never bonded with the OCD much. I do really like the JHS morning glory, which I guess is a similar boost. I do really love a clean boost into a really clean amp.

IMO.

I pick one up every year or two but they don't seem to stay. They sound OK but I don't seem to bond with them. For boost I use an Electroharmonix
LPB-1. Works fine for me..

Enjoying the surf,sun and sand!!

I've played one before. Its a nice pedal with a lot of versatility. Right now I use a Bluesdriver that I modded. It gets the same tones that the OCD gets. No bass cut and no mid bump.

I use the custom audio-mxr boost/line driver. It gives an un-colored boost of your tone and does not add any grit unless you crank it. A great always on pedal.

I was a big fan of Fulltone for several years, used Fulldrive 2 mostly but also favored OCD and Fat boost-2

As for the overdrive itself OCD is really great and probably the best of Fulltone drives, I always wanted the versatility of Fulldrive to be joined with OCD sound) guess that is the reason a sold them and moved to Xotic AC plus and then to Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive) however sometimes think of getting OCD again

I love the OCD! With other overdrive pedal it always took a bit of tweaking to get the sound I like, but with the OCD it is always instant pleasure. I even bought a cheap Joyo clone to see if the price is worth it. The Joyo is good, but the OCD is the real deal!
Never really liked Tubescreamers, which everyone seems to like best, bought a couple of versions and resold the almost instantly. The OCD is on my pedalboard since I've bought it and I don't see it leaving ever!

Athought, since I bought an EHX Soul Food, I use the OCD only for the more dirtier sounds, the Soul Food is superb with the light overdriven tube sounds...

I instantly liked it. I've used a few others but this one is my favorite so far. It's still a mystery why mr Dale was running through one but it sparked my curiosity. There may be better but this is better for surf than any other of peddles I've tried.

Did you see the led lit up? That I didn't see but I wondered why he was running through it if it wasn't turned on.

It was plugged in right after his wireless unit Apparently he uses it when he feels he isn't getting enough gain from his amps, as if!

I was just looking into clean boosts, and the OCD was one I considered. It just didn't sound that transparent to me. I saw a video where the different 'generations' of them have different qualities.

However, I plumped for the Mooer Blues Mood - it's basically a Blues Driver clone that also features the Keeley mod. It's fantastic, just run it at no gain for nice boost, or around 9 o'clock if a bit of grit is needed.

Doesn't he swear the coily cable is tone mecca?

Don't know what year V3 was out. Mine is a V1 and it's the most valuable with prices on Ebay at 250.00.

Here's a wiki of sorts on the OCD.

I have an OCD clone made by Tim from the Offset boards. I dig it a lot, but it collects dust since I got my Spaceman Saturn V.

stratdancer. Thanks for the link, very informative. Researching pedals right now and this pedal caught my ear.
