A shameless plug for my drums-only track for practicing your "Baja", over on the "Down Loads" Backing Track section: Baja Drums Backing Track.
There is a cool rhythm guitar-only "Baja" backing track, by ColtSurf, there as well: Baja Rhythm Backing Track.

Any DICK DALE tune but I would play bass. You pick it. Nice strat though. Hopefully shows some wear marks by now. Remember I was the guy that said he would loose sleep to play longer sets. It is normal for me. I work normally as a stage hand and never get enough sleep. I just got off this symphony call, mark my time. Let's rock it!

Hey everyone, it appears I will be attending this great event after all.
Just curious if I can play a few songs with some guys if the timing is OK.
I've started my own surf instrumental band and things are going great so far. If anyone wants to set something up, here is what I can bring to the table:
Miserlou : Rhythm guitar/Lead guitar
Walk Don't Run : Rhythm guitar
Pipeline : Lead guitar
Wipeout : Rhythm guitar
Flight of the Surf Guitar : Lead guitar
Return of the Surf Guitar : Lead guitar
Two Guitars (The Mustangs) : Lead guitar
Let me know!

Gellert (SaxOnTheBeach...lead guitar) and Don Schott (DontFearTheReverb...bass guitar) are wanting to combine their jam talents to perform a perfect Trifecta of surf covers. No breaks, no additional members jumping on stage, no applause in between songs. Just one tune right after the other, boom-boom-boom. The songs are:
1- PENETRATION
2- FLIGHT OF THE SURF GUITAR
3- MISERLOU (somebody HAS to do a DICK DALE number!)
But, we need at least one other jam partner to complete the lineup; a drummer, of course! (And perhaps a second guitarist if anyone is interested).
We're both hoping we can get someone on board with us ASAP.
Please let us know if you're willing to offer your talents, thank you!

Hi Lorenzo, well that's great!!
What is your e-mail address...I will send you the 3 songs so you can hear which versions we are doing.
Thanks so much...we are looking forward to it.
Mom_Surfing, if you can save a spot for us in the members jam with these 3 songs, that would be perfect. I am guessing we will need only 7 1/2 minutes total.

If you need a rhythm guitarist on the Penetration, Flight of the Surf Miserlou medley, I'm good for it if nobody wants it. Cheers.

Just a note for the 'Misirlou' section, be sure you know/arrange which of the umpteen versions you will be doing ! It can get messy....!

I'm willing to loan out my gold metal flake DD Strat for Misirlou if anyone wants to use it, but if no one wants to, then I'll gladly do it.

That's a mighty nice gesture of you there Maxx. I think I'm gonna go for the Jag attack on this one. Should sound sweet goin' thru a Showman. Hee Haw!
