THIS GUITAR IS SOLD. THANKS!!

Hi guys!!

I am selling one of my beloved yamahas sgv.

Yamaha sgv 300 black. All original, great shape, mint condition, like new, no dings, no scratches, no weird issues... nothing!!

I would add an original yamaha sgv soft gig bag.

Plays and sounds great. I would be more than happy to provide more pics and details to anyone who is interested.

Cheers!!

Do you still have this for sale? I'm interested in buying it.

Ah, funny! At this moment before I opened the computer I played one of my Yamaha SGV300s for over an hour. I highly recommend those Yamahas SGV300s! Give em a good setup and they sound (for me) like a Jaguar with the punch of a Jazzmaster.
(I always would prefer the SGV300 before the SGV800! I sold my SGV800`s again. The SGV300 has got the better pickups.)
450 Euros is a good price! Get it if it is still available.

…I like those late 90s SGV300s even more than the old originals from the 60`s.

Twang cheers!

Hey, I watched for your band Los Pipelines.
I noticed a bandpic with a blue SGV300!?!?
You have got this sonic blue SGV300? WHERE have you found it please?
I painted my most played SGV300 in a DIY action in cream white with by myself self carved red pickguard (I have to make pics).
And I have my yellow 300 which I bought new about 10 years ago.

A blue one is the holy grail of SGV300`s!
Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Twang cheers!

There is a bunch of blue ones on yahoo.jap: yamaha sgv search.
I have bought some guitar parts with buyee on yahoo.jap, it is fine but shipping cost and duty taxes can kill the deals.

Hi Ralf,
That blue guitar is actually a Yamaha SGV 700. As you know, a blend of a sgv300 body and pickups with a sgv800 neck, and gold hardware. I got it from Ishibashi Music Shop two years ago. I came across that guitar by chance and I could not resist. I was lucky. SGV 700 are hard to get because Japanese Music shops do not usually ship guitars overseas. It is a great, great guitar because you get the cutting sound of a sgv300 with the feeling of a sgv800 neck - I think that the sgv800 neck feels and looks better than the sgv300 neck, but like you, I prefer by far the sound of the sgv 300 (sgv300 ceramic pickups are fantastic and much more versatile!!!)

One picture of the blue one.

Ah, thanks for the infos!
Good decision to get the blue SGV700.
Yes, the mix with the 800 neck and 300 pickups is maybe the best solution.
So, I would like to have the blue SGV700 with chrome hardware.

Twang cheers!

Yes, interesting guitars can be found on Japanese yahoo.
I bought a very nice Teisco K-56 using this company as middle man: http://one-jp.com/
Worked very smooth for me Smile

Responding two months late: yes, it turns out I can Embarrassed .

There are always a number of these for sale on Yahoo Japan and for decent prices (absent the prohibitive cost of shipping from Japan).

Cool guitars...I just have to keep reminding myself why I've had three and sold three.

My daughter orders clothing and stuff from Japan all the time. She says there are a lot of shopping service companies there that can get stuff for you if the company you want a product from does not ship internationally. She likes a company called Japanco that ships in about 3 days and packages are trackable. Although costs for the weight of a guitar would be high. But if you just have to have it.... Smile

Yeah...shipping a guitar from Japan to our corner of the world runs $120USD and up. Heck, it costs me $80-$90 to ship one within the US...

My problem with the SGV's was the neck width. If I were to go for another one, I think it would be a vintage SG. The necks on those were more akin to traditional Fender necks from what I remember of Crispy's.

I wonder, with the cult status of these, if we'll ever see another run of them from Yamaha.
