Best birthday ever... Thanks to everyone for being the most awesome people in the world and extra thanks to Crispy for letting us tag along for the adventure!

best birthday for me too, and i've had quite a few more than you. i liked it when daikaiju played happy birthday riffs to you and then pulled me out of the crowd and into the donut circle of mayhem to play it for me as well. how very cool was that? Big Grin ......still smiling about this past weekend

i'll post bits and pieces as i process this event.

the crazy aces rocked the house. great musicians, material, stage presence and leaving the crowd wanting more, much more. this was my first time seeing them. i had great expectations and was not disappointed.

Carol, that sounds fabulous! Someone told on you. Smile

the insect surfers.........great set, great energy and set list. dave and jonpaul were joined by chad shivers (mystery men-guitar) and brian crum (intoxicators-drums). that was one quick crowd engaging set. i wanted more as did everyone around me in the audience. Thumbs Up

Crazy Aces killed it. Saw them in Douglasville last year at Surf Fest, wore out their first CD, on to the second one. Great stuff!

Navigation and Terminal Guidance systems, Gemini 13

it was my pleasure to play the intoxicators 'phantom mustang' with noel(and everyone else involved) in the saturday lunch jam. thanks for asking me to join you. i hope it sounded as good out on the floor as it did to me on the stage. noel did a great job playing the lead.

when i saw on daikaiju's FB page (probably 2 months ago) i wrote what a perfect birthday present it was for me to see them on that day. santanu must have remembered my post as he asked me if it was my b-day before they played.

Carol, I did not know it was your birthday.......Happy Belated!

Chris and I went the lunch jam specifically to see you and Noel and you did not disappoint for sure. Great job!
Noel's evening performance with The Intoxicators was truly righteous as well.

Chad and Brian hit this out of the park, in fact between the fabulous Mystery Men? set, his performance with The Insect Surfers and Moonbase (which I had to miss to get back home) I think Chad gets the MVP award this year. That man is beyond talented

While connected enough to be able to fill his festival with the biggest and most legendary bands of the genre, each year he dedicates a large portion of the lineup to new and green bands, offering them an opportunity to sell themselves to a captive and highly representative audience, as well as to many well-established bands from all over the world. There couldn't be a better service to a startup band. I know that 4 years ago Kill,Baby...Kill! took the stage a mere 5 months into our run as a live band. That moment opened the doors that have allowed us to continue touring as a semi national act, as well as sell many more records than we ever imagined possible. Even more, it introduced us to friends that we hold dear and imagine will be lifelong.

Noah, thank you for saying exactly what I've been trying to do with the Instro Summit for all these years. I'm thankful someone else out there can see just what the hell I'm thinking, and also understands the idea behind it. Bless you, sir--and your loud-ass band of rock.

I'll be posting my usual jumbo post of thoughts on the 2014 Summit soon. But in the meantime, I needs to recover. Stay Tuned.

I'll try to say something intelligent later, but right now I'm so high from what happened I can't wrap my brain around it all. So I think I'll just share this. Look! I have frozen happy guitar face!

Congrats Crispy for another great event, and stepping it up
a few notches.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Noel, "frozen happy guitar face?" So did your partners in crime and all of us standing in awe. You couldn't have hired a better back-up band.

Jeff, Chad must be "the hardest working man in surf business."

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Ed, I'm still in shock!
