OK everybody, all votes have been counted.
All tune in next week to hear the results!

I'm really curious to hear just the number of total votes, by any method, worldwide.

Dear Badger, we are not giving these exact numbers. I know from experience that this can spark a superfluous debate. Let´s assume we now have 200 votes and for the next Album Top 101 we have 150 votes. People will be saying the next list is less representative because of the numbers, especially artists whose tracks are falling out of the chart.
Just as with the Surf Revival Top 101 and the Classic Surf Top 101 we have enough votes to produce a "healthy" list where a specific record needs to end up high in several lists or low in even more lists to enter the chart.
We have very roughly about the same ammount of votes coming in by Email as the ones casted on Surf Guitar 101. That should give you a rough idea.

That's fine Niels; was just curious for some "world-wide" trivia to pull out of the pocket for some doubters, for PR. But if PC is important I understand that too.

Thanks for all the effort. Can't wait! Big Grin

Maybe increase it to a top 20 or even 30. I can't imagine getting enough votes and combined that with the huge number of revival albums, there may be only a vote or two between nominations. But I haven't seen the data either, so feel free to ignore me. Big Grin

Yes, I meant getting to vote on 20 or 30. That way there would be more votes for albums.

Well as I said we have enough votes for a healthy list. Low entries need several high positions in individual lists or a lot of low positions in individual lists. The highest entries appear in several dozens of lists. We got more votes in by email than SG101 this time. I think the end result is at points very surprising but I don´t see any undeserved entries. These are all 101 great albums. Obviously some albums will spark a debate which only makes it the more interesting.

I am considering to have people make a Top 15 for the next Top 101 to make it easier for all the diehard voters. On the other hand this may be a turnoff for people that are not that deeep into surf music yet. It´s an ongoing debate. We will see. As for now, enjoy listening coming Sunday.

Here´s the schedule for coming weekend.
The good news is we will re-run all personal Album Top 10 Specials by the DJ´s on Saturday. The bad news for people living in the US and South America, we needed 12 hours for this show so you will either have to get up in the middle of the night to listen from the start or catch the bottom entries during the re-run straight after the number one album has been played.
