Not to change the subject or anything, but you're in Landisville? I'm up the PA Turnpike just off the Mahoning Valley exit! You're under 2 hours from me.

Sax, no worries! The bleacher-type seating that Mike described is THE BOMB for catching a show at Motorco. In addition to giving your legs a break, the bleachers put you at a good level (and good angle) for a commanding view of the stage. I believe there is also a smaller set at the back of the room (in front of the sound-booth).
As much as I love The Cave and The Casbah (RIP), Motorco is far and away the nicest and best sounding room of the three.
-murph
P.S. I believe capacity is around 500

FYI: I just reserved my room at Duke Tower a few minutes ago. The reservation desk clerk said she has just ONE room available listed under the InstroSummit event.
(You'll need to call them on the phone for a reservation because their online system isn't in real time and may show a room available when it really isn't).

Murph is correct about the Motorco's capacity, which is right around 500. Plenty of room, if history serves. In addition to the bleachers, there's also a mess of cocktail tables and chairs off to one side. We might eliminate one set of the bleachers, though, as we're trying to figure out how to have enough room for everybody's merch (Motorco used to be a Plymouth Dealership back in the day, and as such has an unusual amount of doors everywhere, none of which we allowed to block with merch tables lest we upset the fire marshals). There should be plenty of sitting AND standing room for everybody regardless.
DiPinto will not be around this year, as they declined sponsorship after I chose an Eastwood guitar for the raffle (And you would have, too--Mike Robinson gave me a heckuva deal). I'll probably still put up their banner, though, as they've been good to us over the years, and are owed a little more exposure since our 2013 video footage hasn't been made useable yet (bad audio issue). We might have another big-time sponsor though, thanks to Jeff Senn's help. If it goes through, I'll blab.
As for the hotel rooms, I'll double-check with the Duke Tower people on Monday. I need to find out if they're really out of rooms that weekend (there's lots of weddings that weekend, and the Duke Tower is a stronghold for wedding guests) or if they're simply out of the rooms I pre-reserved under the Instro Summit banner. Hopefully it's the latter, and I can make more. Stay Tuned.

Hotel Update: I finally got to check with the Duke Tower Hotel, and yes indeed, all of the original block of rooms I reserved have been taken. I've been told there are a about a half dozen Deluxe Suites available (ten bucks more, but still applicable to the Instro Summit group discount), as well as two "mutt" rooms (their term, not mine); one is a smoker's room (and smells like it) the other is used for people who have pets. Both of those can be had for the regular rate, so if you're a smoker or have no issue with pet dander, they might be the thing.

Sponsor Update: Thanks to Jeff Senn's help, we now have D'Addario Strings in our sponsoring corner. In addition to sending us a mess of T-shirts and a pile of D'Addario and Planet Waves stuff to fill our "Suitcase of Swag" prize, they also sent us a mess of..strings! In particular flatwound and halfwound sets. Many a surf guitarist will not be lacking a spare string this go 'round.

Just make sure they don't send any strings lower than 11's...;)

Glad to help anyway I can.
D'Addario has supported us for years so I'm really happy to see them be a part of this. The real thanks go to them and Crispy.
Noah, you still playing EXL115's?

Lineup Update: Slight change to the Saturday Matinee lineup. The Meteor IV have broken up, and are regrouping, but not in time for the Summit. Taking their place will be Greenville, NC's the Out of Limits.

Man I'm super bummed that the Meteor IV had to pull out of this year's Instro Summit, but stoked that another North Carolina Surf / Instro band got our slot. I know The Out of Limits will do an awesome job and it looks like Crispy has out done himself once again which I didn't think was possible!
To everybody that has emailed, facebook messaged and other...YES the Meteor IV have disbanded. Any gigs previously advertised have unfortunately been canceled.
From what I understand the rest of the group (not me) intends to reform but are taking a different musical direction (70s Funk, R&B)?

It's the crazy week at Instro Summit HQ; finishing up the press release, posters, banners, postcards, You Tube videos, various page updates, and a zillion other things I can't think of at the moment. One fun thing at this time is that I get to listen to everybody's music they send, and pick my favorites. Right now, "Kabuki" by the Trabants is the earworm du jour; I've been humming it to myself for days.
