Brian, thanks for taking the time to make this a reality. I know the ease of use will help make the site so much more visual and reporting in real time much more common! Cheers

And easier to use. I never much liked posting pictures to another service just to post them here. This is MUCH more convenient. Now, about videos? (Just kidding! Big Grin )

Hey, Noel - don't get your hair cut that short again.

Done and done.

"You can't tell where you're going if you don't know where you've been"

Thanks Jonpaul and Noel!

Phase 2 is now live. You can now delete your photos by visiting your gallery page in your profile. But be careful if you do that, you'll break any posts that you previously pasted the image codes in. You can go back and edit those posts to fix it up. But this will at least allow you to fix any upload mistakes.

Phase 3 is in beta test now. If you scroll down a bit underneath the new post box you'll see a little form to upload a photo. It will upload and resize the photo just like before, but when finished it will automatically paste the image code into the post box for you.

Try it out and let me know what you think.

Oh, you will probably have to clear your browser's cache before it will work right.

Oops. I see several of you had problems. I have uploaded a fix. Again, you may have to clear your browser's cache before it will work (CTRL-SHIFT-DEL) on most browsers (someday I'll make it so you won't have to do that...).

So how is this working out? Comments?

I've noticed people are uploading the same photo multiple times. Is this an accident? Or are you doing it for different posts? Don't forget you can go into your profile and see a gallery of photos you have uploaded in the past and get the image codes to reuse them.

Well, I tested Delete photograph & it works fine. Also, It's easy to reuse my photographs, as you said. I have some trouble uploading a photograph while I'm in a topic. It's probably just me, but it's not a problem since I upload any pics I want to use from my Profile first anyway.

I've noticed that pics that look good on my computer screen before I upload them are grainier after uploading. Is this a consequence of re-sizing?

I updated the FAQ for the new method:
http://wiki.surfguitar101.com/Sg101Faq/PostingPhotos

If you have comments on the FAQ let me know, or just edit the FAQ.

If the image needs to be resized I think it does compress the photo somewhat, which might make it loose some fidelity.

You can also upload multiple photos to one post. Just keep using the upload form, it will append image codes to the post box.

Nothing worth mentioning. My computer has started tormenting me lately. Big Grin It fails to do even the simplest things. Like Flash. I download it daily and can only use it once. Then it's gone and I have to download it again the next time I need it. I hate computers! Big Grin The most annoying thing is I can't unzip any music I download, and have it be playable off my computer. Stupid Windows 8! Two different tech supports (Microsoft & HP) and a PC expert friend of mine have given up trying to get my PC to cooperate with me. Oh, it also can't burn a music CD that a CD player can play. Other computers and DVD players, yes. But not a real CD player. Picard Face Palm Stupid Windows 8! ROTFL

For maximum effect, say, "Stupid Windows 8!" while sounding like Ellen DeGeneres.

Still confused by this. You can reuse the image in multiple threads. Or is there something about the form that is causing duplicate uploads? You can also delete duplicates.
