I searched a bit in this thread but did not found it...

I have found a secret in this compilation!
Does anybody know what I mean?
Who has found the special thing in this compilation?
I saw something on this compilation... I saw it, and I was a bit amused.

Yes, this is the question of the month (or year).
Have you discovered something wrong or special on this compilation? I do not mean the songs...
Smile

any ideas???

Hmmm????
No replies...??? No ideas? Come on!!!!
I am talking much too cryptic maybe???

Take a look at the first site of this thread to come nearer to what I am talking about. Smile

Lots of little oddities in the listings, but, no, Ralf, I'm baffled.

Could it be how the numbers on the knobs are circled to inform you the disc number??

Ah, okay, first thoughts. Good good, but no, this is not the little funny thing I discovered.

When I became the box set I was very excited for the whole booklet.
After 5 minutes I thought: "Hey, what is this? Is this serious? Oh, funny. Good work! Well done! Really well done!"........

If nobody will find it I will tell you tomorrow! Smile

???????????
You got me pal.

Alright: When I held the supernice CD compilation in my hands I looked at the ocean turquoise colored Jaguar on the left. My eyes gone to the pickups: WHY had the pickups NO polepieces???
THEN I knew everything! The whole universe went diaphanous!
The Jaguar is the SAME like mine in my little shelf in the bedroom. It is a miniature guitar! ALL the guitars on the cover are toys!
They are from this nice japanese lim. edition miniature Fender series, haha!!!!
So even the boards and the woody are toys!
The sand is real I guess.
Good work though!
I think "normal" people do not notice such things. Smile

Have a nice miniature day!

I thought the cover was a painting. Big Grin

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Aha!
I thought you were talking about something inside.
Now that you mention it, it's really obvious.
Especially the woody. The shine on the paint and plastic gives it away.

Good eye,

Jeff(bigtikidude)

If I had said that there is something special with the front cover it would have been way toooooooo easy for you!!!! Smile

Wonder how the sales of this have been doing?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I saw it at one of the local record stores... and somebody bought it before I could

I haven't read every post on the last 7 pages, but in case it wasn't mentioned previously, this set is now available on iTunes for around $40. Yeah, you don't get the book, but you get the tunes. Like now.

After reading some earlier posts about a decent number of these songs being a bit underwhelming, I'm still considering whether to buy the whole set or buy the songs piecemeal.

Sean

I think every surf fan should own the physical set with the book. It's pretty unique and when is this kind of thing going to happen again? In any event it is bound to be a collectors item like the Cowabunga Box set.

This past weekend in Nor Cal, I saw disc one in a jewel case and with artwork, for sale by itself in record stores.
But I didn't see cds 2, 3, or 4,

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Brian, agreed. This is a must have.

Saw a copy of the box set for $55 at a record store in town (behind the counter). They were also selling Disc 1 for about $20.
