Yeah, and who let loose a hippie with color pens on the pickguard? Laughing

T H E ✠ S U R F I T E S

thing is... they didn't have a brand on them. I was told they were made in Argentina. (no, I'm not kidding).

The guy wanted $35 each for them... I declined.
but before you gulp...remember that this was in 1982, and they didn't play very well.

Gotta love the clown-barf pickgards though..... Razz

That's a Wilson Bros. VM65 in Candy Apple Red if I'm not mistaken.

There is Surf east of Sepulveda.

Hi, Wannes,

Hey, that looks pretty spectacular to me! Love that Fiesta Red Jag.

Thanks. That's a Wilson Bros VM-65 Ventures model. The body shape is a little different from a Mosrite and it has a Strat style trem. The reverb tank is sitting on a little thing I just made of plywood, casters, and some L brackets (so it won't slide off). I originally made it for an amp, just so I could move it around easier. Nothing too exciting Smile

Hi, Wannes,
Hey, that looks pretty spectacular to me! Love that Fiesta Red Jag.

Jake
I agree with Woody.

thanks. I only meant it's all in the sub most desirablecategory: SF instead of BF, CIJ instead of AVRI. Weberkit instead of vintage tank. Im not complaining, living in europe the price difference between the top and the subtop is enormous, and this all suits me well. I love the fiesta red jag too, plus I like I don't have to be supercarefull with it, every time a hit a shark over the head with it, chips of paint come off Wink

Wannes, one could never tell from your songs that you weren't using a BF or AV Jag. The Fiesta is awesome. My Burgundy Mist AV is Fiesta red underneath. Sometimes I want to strip it to its original finish. But how many Burgundy Mist Jags do you see?

Fender is making new "thin Skin" Jags with matching headstocks. The Fiesta Red one is gorgeous. Unfortunately they make one in Sonic Blue and Shoreline Gold so I can't decide which one to buy so I won't feel tempted to buy something I don't need.

Edit: added another picture to show my amp.

I have a CAR Jaguar and a Fender Twin Reverb 15. But I haven't photographed them. I do have a photo of my reverb unit, a Campbell Sound Blues Reverb. Betchya never seen one of these before:

Shawn what guitar did you use to record Huricane Ashley? It soundeds exactly like my Jag, but if it was the WIlson bros, then I would be happy to hop on that guitar too. It looks sweet. Great song by the way.

tanx Smile That was recorded with my Strat a couple years ago. I didn't have any regular recording equipment at that time, and zero experience with recording. I used a Guitar Port with the modeling software and CoolEdit.

^^ Shawn, I thought it sounded pretty raw, but very good none the less. Maybe rerecord it someday with your newer equipment?

Don't ever strip the Burgundy Mist finish off that Jag. It is simply too cool.
