That Jackie and the Cedrics album's a good one, Fady - it'll be worth the wait.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Just today I received the Surf Coasters' all-acoustic CD "p.m."

I believe that leaves one single Surf Coasters CD that I do not own: "Runabout 3". Patience.....

Surf Daddies

I just got "Sandstorm", listening to it right now. That completes my Madeira catalog. Really looking forward to the Convention. Smile

Also got caught up with everything from Secret Samurai and Bambi Molesters amongst a lot of other current releases.

Damn that "Brave New Surf" !! All this new music is cutting into my cocktail fund. Now I can't afford my expensive Tiki drinks. Cry

Just got the Concussions new one from Double Crown, and I love it! The guitar tones are great; not reverby, but very retro-cool. The songs are really well written, mixed & performed, and there are a handful of tracks in 3/4 time. I would say it's more on the 1960's jet set/cocktail side of music than surf. I can't wait until part 2. Highly Recommended!

Also in the "overdue" category... I'd grabbed Aloha Baby a while back, but needed to circle back and get the first 2 Tikiyaki releases. (Johnpaul - you can thank Ivan & his evening w/ guests as the reminder to grab these earlier releases... or should I say I can thank Ivan! Big Grin ) Ordered direct from the band site and also arrived today by said mail man (double woot!)

I stumbled upon this one yesterday...

John Severson presents Sunset Surf in Mono
Sources differ on when it was released one says '63 another says '65.

On the back is says
"Jimmie Haskell contributed to the arrangements. They highlight the surfing guitar of the great young talent Glen Campbell who plays surf music like it was a way of life. Matter of fact, it practically is!"

Here is a vid from youtube...

"Maybe there aren't any surf bands; there's only surf music?" Tuck

The Mariners' "Demon Surf". WoodyJ & company hit a home-run here. Excellent well-recorded trad-style surf songs, played well, and with a nice package/artwork. 8 originals, 4 pretty obscure covers, and one well known cover. What's going on in the South? There's a strong surf scene happening down there. Congratulations on a job well done!

Bob
