So, someone has finally decided to document this strange phenomena of garage and surf music that is happening in Alabama.
You can do your part to help this happen by going to this Kickstarter page and donating to reserve your copy.
This compilation will include SG101 regulars Daikaiju, Kill Baby...Kill! and The Original Shake Charmers, as well as many other great bands from this state.

First I've heard of it -- and the Hi Fi's bassist is in the OSC's! Should be good (even without the Hi Fi's)!

The guy contacted us after we played a fest in Tuscaloosa last month. It is some guy in Tuscaloosa organizing it and he hand picked the bands. You should put the High Fidelics name in the running for the bonus band.

I hope everyone can support this. There are some nice incentives and the more money made, the more copies each band gets to sell at shows. This should be a nice little collectors item, and the bands are all choice.

Bump!
I really want to encourage any who can to go to this kickstarter page and pre-order a copy of this 12" Compilation. Alabama has, since I can remember, had a really creative community of bands that have rarely been documented in a proper fashion. This comp is filled with some of the best bands I have encountered in my 25+ years of being a part of this community.

Somebody posted this on reddit. I think I was the first backer.
My voting results are going to be heavily biased towards a certain discipline (though I like a lot of those punk bands)

Hahahaha...Well, there are a handful of other surf bands in the state that are not represented. It is pretty much based around the hipstery/indi house show scene from what I can tell. All of these bands are great. Nowhere Squares have been around as long as I have been playing music.

I just checked the Kickstarter page for this. It has 29 days left and isn't quite half way to the goal.
This isn't something that KBK is putting together. We were just asked to be a part of it.
I appreciate those of you who have taken the time and money to support this great compilation and hope that others will do the same.
It is a very special time in the Alabama music community, like I haven't seen since the early 1990's and I really hope this project comes together to document it.

This kickstarter has only 7 days left and is still a bit over 400 shy of the goal. Please go and reserve your copy today and urge your surf and garage loving friends to do the same.

The Kickstarter for this 12" vinyl compilation really saw a boost yesterday. It is now only 112 dollars away from the goal. If you want to hear new tracks by Daikaiju and Kill, Baby...Kill!, as well as other great Surf and Garage bands from Alabama, including Original Shake Charmers, Piss Shivers, Nightmare Boyzzz, Pine Hill Haints, Mouse Teeth and more...well...a 15 dollar donation reserves your copy.
