Just watched last nights episode of Mad Men and was inspired to throw this one on...in MONO, of course.
I was listening to the Sun. morning Breakfast with the Beatles show
a few months ago, and they were talking to the guy that did the book that documents the recordings, equipment, etc. of all the Beatles records and studio time. And I was really blown away to hear that they would spend a lot more time on the Mono mixes of the recordings (using all the best techs for that in the day time) and then the lesser techs would rush through the stereo mixes in the over night shifts.
And of course some of the takes for the mono and stereo songs were different. Now I really need to get the Mono box set.

The Beatles Mono box is pretty awesome. I find myself listening to the mono albums more often than the stereo mixes.
It used to be brutally expensive, and hard to find, but I'd bet there are used sets in the $100 range.
(I just checked Amazon, and the used set starts around $110. Vinyl starts at $1200. No, not a typo)

Just beat the afternoon thunderstorms mowing the lawn with a little extra kick in my step thanks to this. Lots of great music, but one can never tire of the opening cut.

Nice Score, Brian!
Getting geeked for the convention here.

And on the commute...
...and a lil' something for everyone to enjoy attached

I've been listening to those Exotics CD's myself Fady! Currently I'm white boarding and listening to The Best of Rocakabilly Instrumentals.

Just discovered this fantastic Australian band from the '70s (though I think they're still together). For fans of the Stooges/MC5/New York Dolls.
