A mess of replies and updates:

hopefully the PBR will start flowing sooner. They are sponsoring the Summit again, aren't they? Gonna need something to wash down all those quality Utz chips!

Yep, they're still our main sponsor--their check arrived just this afternoon--Hoo Hah! Pabst also owns National Bohemian Beer now, so we'll also have Natty Bohs for the bands to drink as well. And as any Baltimore resident will tell you, Natty Bohs are the preferred drink to wash down Utz Chips!

chris, could you post a google map with the stations location?

Here's a link to the Station's website:

http://www.sr-nc.com/

Direction wise, it couldn't be simpler; from the Cave, head down Franklin street to the west. The street will make a little jog to the right, and become Main St. You'll see a set of railroad tracks; the building to the right just past the tracks is the Station. You can park in their lot, or in the lot just before or across the street. Highly recommend the chow; they just got a new chef who's upgraded the menu (and it wasn't bad before) and there's plenty of dishes for both vegetarians and carnivores alike.

Also: Mike the DiPinto rep will be on hand at the Lunch Jam with a mess of guitars to try and some swag to give away. And we even might get a caravan of Ural motorcycles to drop by. Any way you slice it, it'll be an interesting afternoon!

Does anyone know anyone at WXYC, the UNC Chapel Hill radio station? I would like to stop by to say hi if that would be welcome.

That could be tricky; most of the Deejays will be in graduation mode that weekend, and could be hard to nail down. Also, the building WXYC is in is under reconstruction, and verboten to the public at the moment. You might have better luck at WCOM, which is in a little building just across the street from the Station.

And speaking of radio...

Myself and Phatlynx co-member Robby Poore will be on Durham's WXDU this Sunday, from 9-10pm EST on the "Who's Got the Cuckoo?" show, talking about the Summit, and playing songs of the bands performing. Here's a link to their website:

http://www.wxdu.org/

And for Orange County residents: I'll be selling raffle tickets this Sunday from 11-1:30pm EST in front of the Hillsborough Weaver Street Market, and I'll have our grand prize DiPinto guitar oh hand for ogling and demos.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have about a zillion odds and ends I have to shore up before next Friday...

We're also staying at the University Inn. REALLY looking forward to seeing everybody again and hearing all those great bands! (Even Larry "Moon Dawg" White will be making the trek down from DC for this show!)

The Madeira will have brand new t-shirts for sale at the Instro Summit, with the exclusive Steve Blickenstaff design!

That really is a great shirt. I hope my limited budget while on tour will afford me one.

Thanks! Fady, sorry to say that L is the smallest size we got. Sad Maybe it'll still work? (However, we'll make sure Noah can afford one. Smile )

We'll make more this summer, and I'll make sure we get some M's, too, and that you get one of them.

Ivan, I have been amazed at how many SMALLs we manage to sell while out touring. It too my bandmates almost a year to convince me to try it. Since then they sell almost as much as mediums...(medium is the size that sells the most.)

NEWS FLASH!

The folks at PBR just added two new items to the Instro Summit Raffle!

One: A neato Pabst neon nightlight

Two: A PBR toaster that (I kid you not) burns the Pabst Blue Ribbon logo onto your bread as it toasts. What more does one need?

See pictures of both at either of the Summit's Facebook or Google Plus pages.

And now, back to the countdown.

You know, I was not sure if this trip was worth it - THEN I read about the PBR toaster and I knew I was going to the right place.

Natty Boh and UTZ....I will feel like I never left home! Better than the north carolina road lunch (pack of Tom's peanuts in the Pepsi bottle)!

The Bumz will have Surfapalooza tickets to sell as well. Look at our lineup for June 16 in Annapolis, MD at The Whiskey:
The Atomic Mosquitos, The Diamondheads, Reverb Galaxy, Blue Wave Theory
and homies...The Atom Bumz (plug: all NESMA Bands)

What a summer. Thanks for one hell of a show to kick this summer off Crispy. Many bands I have wanted to see, all in one place! F#ing A!

Is there any interest in the jam and cocktail session, Saturday afternoon with the other Summit bands, fans, friends SG surf people and or musicians at Southern Rail 12:30 -2:30?

The Instro Summit Lunch Jam!

One of the Summit’s unofficial events, headed up by 9th Wave and North East Surf Music Alliance (NESMA) members Sandy and Mike Rosado, was to have a little impromptu jam and cocktail session Saturday afternoon with the other Summit bands before the big event that evening. This year, we’ve decided to make it an official get-together, held this year at Southern Rail on Saturday, May 5th. Come meet and hang with the bands playing that evening, enjoy some lunch and a drink, and watch–and maybe join in--as the musicians jam with each other on SR’s Station stage. This runs from noonish until around 2:30, cause we have to make way for another off-Cave extravaganza:

Can we get a run down of all the events in order with times. You know,.. before the main event @ The Cave?

I hope to make it to Chapel Hill by about 11:00am Saturday?

Crispy, does the Cave happen to have their projector situation from last year resolved? We hope to use our videos during this years performance.

I swear on my Mosrite, I plan to get ALL 3 nights in this year! AND the Lunch Jam and the Rumble Jam at The Station!

Seldom has there ever (maybe never) been a better reason for visiting my employer's Raleigh headquarters on both Friday and the following Monday!

So it's now the Wednesday-before and I am already torn between packing the truck or honestly working for my day's pay. Confused

A Good question. I know it's been working for the Wii Bowling League they gots there on Sundays, but I'll double check this evening and make sure it's still going strong.
