My last beer:

I just wish it wasn't seasonal. Seems like a lot of the best beers are seasonal only. Luckily, I bought several six packs of this tasty stuff!

Not really, but I wouldn't mind having a few of these below.

Just a little H2O....

Rum bottles

What, no Havana Club but lots of Bacardi?! Yeah, I know... Anyway, I think that about 10 different rums goes a long way for home use. Here's what I usually stock in my pad:

  • Havana Club Anejo 3 years
  • Havana Club Anejo 7 years
  • Bacardi Reserva
  • El Dorado Demerara
  • Mount Gay
  • Lemon Hart 151
  • Appleton V/X
  • Appleton Special
  • Myers Dark

Only thing I often miss is Bacardi 151 which unfortunately isn't available here. (I managed to order 3 bottles Lemon Hart 151 from Germany when it was temporarily available there - not a substitute at all but a must in many other tiki drinks).

The content in a plastic 5 liter plastic container from my local supplier.

Not drinking yet but it will be the same old cheap, yet potent beer. Have a casino gig tomorrow, perhaps my employers will spring for something good. And theres your big laugh of the day!

I love Appleton Rum. Last year when we went to Jamaica, we went on the Appleton Rum tour. Pretty amazing stuff! And quite tasty, especially the aged rum. The darker the better.

We also went on the Bob Marley tour, but that's a different story...

Where do you get Havana Club? It's from Cuba, and considered contraband by our Overlords. I get it through a runner from Olde Mexico. I discovered it backstage in Belgium watching a dancer for Fifty Foot Combo sip it straight during a dress-undress-dress session. SMOOOOOTH!

Dave,
Most people here in the US don't get Havana Club.
Unless you know how to sneek it in from Mexico or Canada.
Or know someone who does.
I like Havana club, but I think there is a bit of the forbidden fruit aspect going on with it.
Because its banned, it seems better.

For a few other good rums,
check out
Diplomatico, (Jonpaul loves that stuff)(I need to buy some)
El Dorado 21 is amazing-but its 90 bucks,for less $ try 15 year at $35
and the 3 Z's are all good,
Zacappa (the older the better)
Zafra (aged in Burbon barrels for a bit of a smokeiness)
Zaya (a tad on the sweet side, but for sipping, its so smooooth)

cheers

The new Sam Adam's Alpine Spring (their new seasonal for Spring) is pretty damn good... like a very mild IPA with some citrus and pine notes. I dig it - refreshing stuff!

My new drink obsession: the Black Velvet. Half Strongbow, half Guinness. Goes down waaaaaay too easy.

So...we (the Royal Aces) played at the fine Dry Dock Brewing Company in Aurora, CO, and I told the manager that I had heard great things about their Vanilla Porter. He proceeds to bring a tall one, followed by another one a little later, and I am currently developing a pretty fair addiction...

I'm not sure what it is, but I want whatever Jonpaul is drinking tonight.
he's on a rampage of posts.
