Just a friendly suggestion...if you'll post a picture, a price and your location, you'll receive a lot more response on here.

I agree about posting pics. That black Gomez could be very interesting. Is it a custom color or an early build?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

I'm probably gonna kick myself for doing this, but with the permission of the seller, this is what I learned.

Hi Noel,

I looked you up on FB and see you know Paul Johnson. He used the Fender Showman Head and 2x15 cabinet I have for sale (he borrowed it from me when he joined the Surfaris for a few gigs about 5 years ago... it has been in storage ever since)

(...I don't have any black tolex amps anymore so I'm selling the black tank)

$550 is the price for the tank
$950 for the head
$200 for the 1x15 cab
$300 for the 2 x15 cab (not shown but same style/condition as the 1x15, just bigger)

Rich

As for the pics, I'm a Luddite. I have failed at EVERY attempt to upload pics. Nor do I have anywhere to post them that they can be linked to. If Brian wants me to, I will email them to him and he can post them for me. But, TRUST ME. The stuff looks brand new in the pics. I feel sick that I can't quite buy the G-Spring yet.

Noel, you're a good man for doing this. You can also email me the pics and I can post them if you would like.

What a perfect setup.
Get the tank Noel, c'mon, treat yourself!
It's a good price.
Xmas gift, Hanukka gift, whatever...

Even if money's tuff, if you have a roof over your head, and food, and a Harley...

Sorry, didn't mean to get into your privacy, but you got so much passion man, I just want to see you get it over with. you'll be able to say "so now I can concentrate on my playing..." Big Grin

I hear you my friend. I'm trying. Rich http://www.lostoronados.com/fr_home.cfm (Work Warning! Their home page Rumbles!!) prefers to sell these as a set. Hey, I'd prefer to buy therm as a set. It will take me three years to buy everything here on layaway. No one is THAT nice. Be grand, though.

Here's more from Rich, added with his approval.

the 1x15 cab is from Mojotone with a fender logo added.

speaker is 8ohm Jensen CK15.

All was bought as advised from Armin of the Torquays. His opinion was that the Jensen is a nice alternative to the JBL and many times preferred because not so heavy to move around.

the impedance is such that you can play one OR the other, 1x15 or 2x15. (Same Jensens in the 2x15, correct ohms for the showman) Paul Johnson said it all sounded just like it should when he played through the rig at Surfaris gigs.

the 2x15 was built in a professional wood shop by members of the Goofy Foots and Torquays surf band. They had built a few before for themselves.

I have to add a personal note to this thread....

Rich is a great, personal friend of mine. He is an exceptionally talented guitar player in many styles and as such has high standards for quality equipment. If I can say anything about Rich and his gear is that he has great taste, keeps it immaculate and in tip top condition.

Dario

Checking back in with an update.(thanks for posting the photos/info Noel, and thanks for the nice words Dario!)

I moved the Showman, speaker cabs and Gomez G-Spring reverb over to Pepperland Music in Orange, CA on consignment. My bandmate Dave manages the store (lots of great vinyl, new and used music gear).

The best news is that the gear can be demo'd there and they take credit cards. http://www.pepperlandmusic.com/pepperland.html

Rich

Another update: all this gear no longer up for sale. This site is like a crack house to a recovering addict and people like Noel are the dealers!!!

I have relapsed and I am now using, er, playing surf instro music again so I need this gear for my habit.

thanks Noel! You are the main person I blame for this!!!!! Ha!
(ps: hope you shoulder healing up well!)

The Showman, Cabs and Gomez tank are back on the block (I bought another rig and now definitely don't have room for this set up). I'd like to sell them as a set for someone who is looking for a whole rig since all match together so well. If I don't get any bites here I'll put them on EBAY in a week or so individually.

$550 is the price for the tank
$950 for the head
$200 for the 1x15 cab
$300 for the 2 x15 cab (not shown but same style/condition as the 1x15, just bigger)
* the head and 2x15 cab were played by Paul Johnson on stage for his first 3 gigs with the Surfaris. I just had the amp check out by Billy Zoom to make sure all was A+ and clean and it was (rated just over 90watts on his bench)
thanks for looking...

PM sent!

Are these still for sale?

yes

I sent a PM

SOLD

UPDATE: the Showman head, 1x 15 cab and the Gomez G-Spring reverb unit are sold.
The 2x15 cab loaded with the Jensens (lighter weight than JBLs at the recommendation of Armin of the Torquays)is still for sale.
