(Please allow enough time for my free-form
"surf-jazz" solo explorations, though. 360 bars or,
say, 12 minutes ought to be enough time. So 3:02 plus
whatever that works out to.)

Perfect. The very first SG101 "On the bass ... Derek Smalls. He wrote this," moment.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

That's right, in honor of this annual Surf Party we're
playing Firewater. And we fully expect everyone to get
up and dance!!

Don't know how to dance to such a groovy tune? No
problem! Just watch the attached video and practice in
your bedroom.

The best dancer gets a free drink! And at 9 in the
morning, what could be better than dancing to surf
tunes and having a free drink??

See you in 3 weeks! Big Grin

Damn-I'm sorry I can't make it. I'd be a cinch for that free drink! Why back in my day, I was a dancin' fool. Unfortunately, I've only retained half of that description. And you kids stay off my lawn!

Aww man. I'm bummed you wont be there. We'll have a drink in your honor!

Cheers

If there's a spot anywhere, I'll have a guitar with me. I could chug some rhythm for ya's. Smile

even though the sign up list is full,
can we make sure all the positions are filled,
pm or e-mail people if it seems they have an open spot,

Jeff(bigtikidude)

In my best "Mystery Science Theater 3000" voice...So,I need to learn a couple new songs now? Really?

Jeff Utterback

Can I add...I only know a thousand!

Jeff Utterback

Jeff,
I am sure we can use you somewhere.

we don't want Dusty Hogging up all the spotlight, right?
Wink

Jeff(bigtikidude)

If per chance there is something open I'd love to play bass on a tune!

Confirming the following performance:
- Sandy and Mike "Stacatto" Rosado (9th Wave) Guitar
- bIGwAvE Dave Becker (Aquamarines) Bass
- Lorenzo Valdambrini (SurferJoe/Boss Combo) Drums
will perform as the "Big Italian Wave" doing a version of The Astronauts' Movin'

Looks like were pretty full.
remember that Matt Quilter will be doing 3 or 4 hours
of Covers
at Don the beachcomber on Sunday, from 6 to 10?? after
the HB pier show.

This cool event doesn't get that much attention, but, I fought off the tired and went last year. Let me tell you, it was fun! Matt's surf karaoke thingamabob at Don's is extremely well thought out, works great, and is a real blast. The whole scene is very relaxed, with some great just-for-fun players from all levels made to feel really welcome, and lots of camaraderie as a side show. Be sure to try it!

I could not agree with this more. Like Trey says... fight the tired, and check this out. It's such a great way to unwind, jam on some tunes, drink some drinks and chat with friends. I certainly won't miss it!

I concur with these gentlemen as I'm sure quite a few others will. The "chill out" social atmosphere is a must for such an intense weekend. Come and play! This is the part of the weekend when Dave Arnson admits things you never knew about him. He's an amazing character! Laughing

BW Dave

Ha!!!
that is funny,
what did he Admit to you Dave?
Shock

I hope a bunch of you can come to this on Sun.
its from 6 ish to 10 pm ish

Thanks for chiming in guys

The Jam was a ton of fun, despite my being so nervous. I'm actually already jonesing to get on stage again. What a blast!

Trey: I love the SSIV! It was an honor to play rhythm for you Smile

Juan: Someday the Bodysnatchers will be a household name, and I can say I played live with you when you were "just Juan" Laughing

JohnPaul: Dude, you're a machine. We hand wrote notes for you 30 seconds before you got on stage with us and you nailed it. Its an easy song, but still. Much kudos. Plus, I've seen/heard you play in so many awesome bands. It was definitely an honor sharing a stage with you bro Cool

I think next year I'll sign up for a Lead Guitar spot. Everyone make sure to bring extra heavy ear-plugs!

The jam was so much fun! Josh, Trey Jonpaul, you guys rock. As for me: eh, well...next time I'll get some more sleep before going on stage. Zzzzz

It was all for fun. No one had never played that tune before, we got the bassist about 30 seconds before we started. I don't think I exactly nailed it! Laughing Your playing was fine, man.
