Hello,

Just thought I'd let you know that the Ziggy Plays Surf Guitar CD is out now and available from the record shop at www.cordeliarecords.co.uk - (and probably other places including CDBaby eventually). There are a couple of bonus downloads here: http://www.cordeliarecords.co.uk/Pages/the%20david%20bowie%20project.html

This is the tracklisting:

The Gospel According to Tony Day by The Green Windows
Five Years by Surfadelica
Starman by The Vara-tones
Moonage Daydream by The Tomorrow Men
Ziggy Stardust by The Thurston Lava Tube
Surfer Jet City by The Pterodactyls
Did You Ever Have A Dream by The Muffinmates
All The Young Dudes by The Razorblades
Life on Mars by The Weasletones
Heroes by The Incredible Mr. Smith
Speed of Life by The Insect Surfers
All the Young Dudes by The Glasgow Tiki Shakers
Rebel Rebel by The Red Planets
Modern Love by The Swamp Coolers
China Girl by The Mighty Surf Lords
Let's Dance by The Bowbridge Band
Cat People (Putting Out Fire) by The Breakaways
The Man Who Sold The World by The Lost Boys of Penzance
The Jean Genie by Monkey Verses Robot
Panic In Detroit by Pollo Del Mar
Lady Grinning Soul by Los Fantasticos

There's also a (not terribly) secret bonus track which is a version of The Laughing Gnome.

Just ordered mine. Looking forward to it!!

My copy arrived over the weekend and I've been enjoying it ever since. Fantastic tracks from excellent bands, and I plan to check out those bonus downloads soon.

I love it! Great versions everybody!!!

Jim d Pie,

Have you thought about contacting Lee at Dionysus records,
about selling these cds at the Surfguitar 101 convention in Aug.?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Mine is in rotation continuously. Fantastic CD!!

I'm glad to see this project come to fruition - congrats to all! If there is anyway to make these available for sale at the SG101 convention, my wallet will be ready. If not, I will order online in a few weeks.

I'll probably have a few with me.

It's still alive! New review of this comp was just posted here.

While the writer clearly has no idea what he's talking about in regards to my band, I'm glad he's talking about it.

That reminds me - I meant to post this earlier: http://theafterword.co.uk/content/reverb-reverb-brilliant-surf-guitar-bowie-covers

I bought my copy a little while ago. I like it a lot. Very well-done, everyone. I've wondered what Bowie thinks of it. Has anyone on it heard anything?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

This might be a silly internet rumour so don't take it as absolute truth. Apparently Bowie hardly ventures out from his home, some think he might not be very well at the moment.

damn. I wish we´d came up with a tune called that! "Ziggy plays surf guitar..." sweet!

Don't know if this is for real, though all of it is certainly true, but there's a comment:

i,m listening to it now and it,s rather pleasant..I,m a bit of a Bowie disciple and this shouldn,t really work, but it does!
