cool Allan,

4 more spots for the Fender tour.

Don't know how many X fans we have here, but it's looking very likely that one Exene Cervenka will be attending the convention! Catherine of the Cossacks has struck up a bit of a friendship with her after seeing her and John Doe play in May, and since Exene lives in LA and likes surf music, she said she'll be attending! (She also said she loves our CD - Never Mind the Bolsheviks - which may have made Catherine's decade, as she's been an X fan forever!) Anyway, pretty cool, I think.

Cool,
Hopefully if She is still with Jovian, she will bring him too.
He used to chime in on cowabunga a bit, back in the day.

Mac, from Outerwave, and Dusty are in for the fender Tour.
2 spots left open.

indeed! super cool and buzz-worthy!

Wow, I can't believe we are less than a week away. I'm getting pretty excited about the weekend's activities. And by the way, I'm a pretty shy guy in person, but please, please introduce yourself to me, it is so cool to put faces to screen names and talk to members in person.

I cannot believe all the cool bands and people who will be there and at the surrounding events!

I hope everyone has a safe journey to the convention, from the folks who have less than an hour to drive, to the poor dopes like me who have quite a day of travel ahead of them.

Looking forward to the yearly SG101 family outing!

By the way, The US Open of Surfing Contest is going on in Huntington Beach this same weekend as well. I went yesterday (Sunday) for the opening weekend and the parking situation wasn't that bad at all. In fact ,we found parking in the beach lot, even though it said FULL, right away.... but get there early. It might be crowded, but do yourself a favor and see some of this surfing contest and visit Surf City while you are in town.

Living just a few hundred yards from the HB Pier now. It's been nuts down here but lots of fun. So many people you can hardly walk down the sidewalk on the weekends. Still, if you can put up with he crowds, lots to do and see. Hopefully we will get some big surf for the finals.

For sure! The waves were less than stellar on Sunday but it was still a blast. Seems like the regulars right of the pier were tearing it up more than the pros on the left. Still, the energy was palpable. And seeing lines of good-looking girls waiting to get the pros autographs was a hoot. Fellas, drop them guitars and learn to surf! Seriously, if you're in town don't let the crowds keep you away. It's a blast.

So...name tags this year?

I'm back playing keys and guitar with Combo Tezeta

I'm all for the Name Tags if someone wants to do them again.
but I think that most people think its nerdy.
and don't want to wear them.

I need to dig out my Name Badge that Staredge made for me last year.
