Permalink A Surf tune (?) - Moonshot - Live Video

New Topic

Hi All,

I think it could be called a surf tune. I recorded it last night with my
small picture camera. Some clipping due to the poor quality of
the tiny built-in mic.
It was composed by George Tomsco and covered by the Spotnicks: Moonshot (Gunshot?).
A tune I think the Surf bands should play. It would sound much better with the Jaguars, Jazzmasters and Fender amps.
I hope you like it.

Again, very nice playing, Abdel. That's a great practice setup you have there.

Do you program your backing tracks yourself? What are you using?

I have a pretty good collection of Aebersolds, as well as some great Gypsy Jazz rhythm tracks, but I'd like to do my own, also.

Abdel,
another god one,
I keep waiting for you to smack the camera with your guitar head stock when you go to turn it off...... boom!!
hope that doesn't happen.

Hi Jeff, Josh,

Glad you liked the tune.

Jeff I do knock the PA often.
Josh I did make several BT's out of midi files from the net. But the
best ones, I buy from UK's Leos's Den who sales all the
Shadows backings.
I have recorded several Gypsy tunes, but only few could be
interested here.

Regards,
Abdel

Abdel,
please post your videos of the Gypsy tunes in the shallow end, its for stuff that is not surf.

Hi Jeff,

I think I have done enough damage so far with my weird style and
tunes. I' ll just try to stick with Surf-Like or RI tunes.

Blessings,
Abdel

Yeah! Great ending!!

abdel, are the gipsy tunes up on your site? it's where you get with the links anyway, so the times I checked, I found myself clicking something else anyway. nice tunes!
the video's would benefit if you'd put a huge palmtree like plant in that room though. Smile

Hi WR,

I don't have a spot on my site where to put the 6 or so Gypsy tunes I recorded. If you are interested in any of the following, I can email you
an MP3:

  • Dark Eyes (Django)
  • Swing 42 (django)
  • Montagne Sainte Genevieve (Django's Valse)
  • Pour Trois Pas (Romane)
  • Valse a Patrimonio (Romane)
  • Mon Coeur d' Attache (Enrico Macias song I changed into Gypsy).

Regards,
Abdel
