The Longboards & TomorrowMen at The Pike - August 6, 2015

My lousy blog of the great show at The Pike with The Longboards and The TomorrowMen.

The TomorrowMen - Futourism released 8/2/15

New TomorrowMen CD: Futourism

LIMITED EDITION BOX OUT NOW ON DOUBLE CROWN RECORDS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   August 2, 2015

Surf/Instro Rockateers The TomorrowMen return from an eon-spanning vacation with FUTOURISM, the much-anticipated follow-up to their acclaimed 2011 debut It’s About Time!

MYCROFT ELOI (guitar), LAZARUS LONGFELLOW (guitar), SKYLES ANGSTROM (bass) and GROMMET X (drums) have concocted, crafted and cut thirteen new tracks of ultra-melodic, hyper-effervescent, non-stop Surf/Instro Rock which capture the exhilarating, cosmos-trotting experience of barnstorming at breakneck speed throughout time, from 1963 to 3063 and back again without a breath between.

From the baroque Venusian cloudburst of PARSEC’S PARADOX to the contemplative sturm-und-twang of MERCURY IN RETROGRADE, the Saturnalian secret agent trill-and-chill of THE MAN WHO COULDN’T TELL TIME and the bittersweet Neptunian summer’s-end melancholia of CIRCADIA , The TomorrowMen bring it kicking, spinning and reverbing on home to the adventurous 21st Century time traveller. So pack a bag, slip into your all-weather see-thru chromium and vinyl spacesuit and hop onto the big, big Stereo Spaceship for a timeless, time-wide trip into the ear-splendiferous sound of The TomorrowMen’s FUTOURISM.

In the primitive era that is the 21st Century, when hot, sweet, foot-stompin’ music is reduced to little more than a streaming bit of flotsam, The TomorrowMen are here to bring you hope from the year 3000 in the shape of a special, hand-made, limited edition box version of FUTOURISM, complete with a genuine Compact Disc and an extra-genuine selection of Postcard Art from the future, along with a download code so you can put FUTOURISM right onto your phone or similar digital turntable, allowing you to share the CD with a Luddite friend, or vice-versa. Hand-made box edition limited to 500 copies.

Tracks:  PARSEC’S PARADOX ― BACK TO REALITY ― NEW DEMOCRACY ― TUNAK TUNAK
ADRIENNE’S SONG ― ALL SUMMER IN A DAY ― MERCURY IN RETROGRADE
RACK ‘EM UP ―TEMPUS FUGITIVE ― THE MAN WHO COULDN’T TELL TIME
HEMISPHERICAL SYNCHRONIZATION ― LOST ― CIRCADIA

New TomorrowMen - It's About Time CD From Double Crown Records

The TomorrowMen are ready to hit the surf/instro rock scene with their debut CD release, “It’s About Time!”. Led by guitarist Mycroft Eloi (aka Danny Snyder – Meshugga Beach Party and Frankie & The Poolboys), the TomorrowMen will blow you away with their unique blend of traditional and modern surf rock, adding a slight Man Or Astro-man influenced sci-fi sound to several of their tunes. The songs are powerful, melodic and sure to stick in your head for years to come. What makes the The TomorrowMen stand apart from the majority of surf bands playing today is their priority on creating memorable melodies and presenting them in very inventive arrangements. When placed in the midst of a really strong rhythm section such as they have here, you end up with a recipe for some of the best surf music you’ll ever hear.

The TomorrowMen record release show June 18

TomorrowMen Poster

The TomorrowMen are proud to offically announce our CD release party and show on June 18th at The Hotel Utah in San Francisco. It was a long time coming - the band has been together 5 years (give or take a few thousand) and we are incredibly excited that this CD is finally completed.

It's jam packed with lots of your favorite Tmen songs painstakingly produced and recorded in 4-D sound by Pollo Del Mar's Ferenc Dobronyi, who just happens to be playing at the show with us, along with our good friends Blammos!

This is a rare Saturday night show at The Hotel Utah, 21+ and $10 to get in. Hope to see you!

If this isn't reason enough to come, Lady Reverb and I are also celebrating our 25th anniversary! Don't buy us anything, just come on down and bring your friends and  buy the brand new CD "It's About Time!

-Mycroft Eloi aka Danny Snyder

The Fifth KFJC Battle of the Surfin' Bands Sat May 14

    KFJC Surf Battle

On May 14, KFJC presents The Fifth KFJC Battle of the Surf Bands. In keeping with the tradition of the legendary Surf Battles of the early 60s, bands are given 15 minutes to present their best material and show, making for a fast paced and exciting 4 hour event. The biggest change this year is a move from the beloved Hotel Utah in SF, to The British Bankers Club in Menlo Park. The BBC is a big, full service restaurant and will easily hold the expected crowd, and will allow minors. Menlo Park is also much closer to KFJC's home.

The album is produced by Ferenc Dobronyi and he's done an amazing job. Stay tuned for more news as we get closer to release date.
