A huge night for Aloha Screwdriver as we debut our second CD, "The Haunted Planet".
And we're lucky enough to have two of our favorite bands supporting us:
Rocketship Rocketship (SF)
1600 17th St., San Francisco, CA 94107
To stream songs from the bands featured on the show head over to our SoundCloud playlist.
We're very happy to finally show of Aloha Screwdriver's first real music video for our song "Doom Buggy Hellride".
We shot the whole thing in our hometown of Alameda, CA. I'm sure that a lot of you will recognize the tiki bar, Forbidden Island. Our friend Bryan Wright shot and edited the whole thing, and we're super proud of it.
Full album due out on 4/25/13. Pre-order available here.
Thanks for watching!
On May 14, KFJC presents The Fifth KFJC Battle of the Surf Bands. In keeping with the tradition of the legendary Surf Battles of the early 60s, bands are given 15 minutes to present their best material and show, making for a fast paced and exciting 4 hour event. The biggest change this year is a move from the beloved Hotel Utah in SF, to The British Bankers Club in Menlo Park. The BBC is a big, full service restaurant and will easily hold the expected crowd, and will allow minors. Menlo Park is also much closer to KFJC's home.
Aloha Screwdriver's debut CD is out and available through their online store, or as a download through iTunes and Amazon.
No Way Out, is an absurdly analog 8-song EP recorded live to tape with no edits, no overdubs, and no room for mistakes. No one records music this way anymore, and for good reason--it's a pain in the ass. The end result sounds as unique as the band--reverb-drenched surf rock played at a blistering speed.
Full song track previews, videos and photos are available on the Aloha Screwdriver's Facebook page.
