Apologies to anyone planning to see Los Kiosk Bears play at The Bell pub in Great Paxton, Cambridge (UK) on the 26th April 2013. Due to Greene King changing the live music rules for this venue, we can no longer play there. Let's just hope they didn't change them just to keep us out!
All the best,
Paul

The Insanitizers released their 20 song CD "Wild Surf Guitars." The Insanitizers expand the borders of surf guitar into classical guitar, classic rock, modern rock, country, polka, flamenco, and rockabilly. Nineteen of these songs put the guitar front and center; there is no room for a vocalist. This CD tells stories of adventure, mystery and energy with guitar instrumentals in an involving experience. The band has fun performing, and when you listen you will be part of the fun.
This CD also introduces Rodriel & Gabrigo, the Insanitizers Flamenco Surf Rockabilly (Flamencobilly) Acoustic Duo, with three memorable frenetic instrumentals based on surf guitar songs. Come hear the Duo's performance at the CD Release Party, starting 6pm Friday March 22, 2013, at Music Millennium, 3158 E. Burnside St., Portland, Oregon. The performance will be for an hour and there is no cost to attend.
The Sneaky Tikis return to the Valley floor after a bunch of performances in the foothills and join Sacramento's own Lava Pups for a night of instrumental surf and garage rock. The Sneaky Tikis are four precocious young musicians (ages 13 to 19) who were mentored by Dusty Watson and Paul the Pyronaut. They combine the styles of Dick Dale and Slacktone to classic and modern surf songs. The Lava Pups put their spin on traditional and original surf and garage music with some irreverent fun. Shine is an intimate, comfortable venue that features coffee, teas, beer, wine, and food. This promises to be a fun night!

Summer really is a state of mind, especially during the cold months in Southern California. Nothing can prove it more than the right live musical soundtrack. For many fans the world over, this soundtrack is Surf Music, the instrumental genre created in the early 60ʻs by legendary bands such as The Belairs and Eddie & The Showmen. Helping to keep this instro torch alive and well are the members of the online forum SurfGuitar101.com, who have put together some of the most significant live Surf Music events in recent years. The 2nd annual Winter Surf Fest will continue along these lines, featuring an entire day of the reverb-drenched goodness, complete with rare tribute and reunion performances, and the US public debut screening of the new Surf Music documentary film Reverb Junkies. This special Sunday event coincides with one of the most important music weekends in Southern California that includes Deke Dickersonʼs Guitar Geek Festival and the NAMM trade show in Anaheim, and the So Cal World Guitar Show at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
