Oh my... that pedal sounds terrible. He shouldn't have used the vibrato on that deluxe pedal either...
Sounded decent for the Country portion, but it still sounded like onboard reverb on 3-4. And the surf portion was an abortion. |

I didn't hear the 'booch' once in any of those samples. _________________ Atomic Mosquitos |

Well, with the huge succes of the EH Holy Grail this had to come. That country-picking stuff sounds cool to me - also soundwise. The rest......oh well . _________________ El Ray

Oh, pew, wasn't it ever?. Would've be nice if he'd at least learned the song.

I wish he didnt use the shitty trem on the surf protion...couldent really hear the drip...or if there was any, I bet id like it way more than the holy grail. Sounds like a RI tank to me from here, Im sure some one will bring one of those to the store for me to check out.
I give em a thumbs up for trying, Instead of buying a $700 RI tank you can now buy a $100 pedal ( i assume its $100 ish bux)
At least surf is kind of looked at buy manufacturers, thats a good thing, normally we are forgotten. _________________ Give me reverb or give me death!

In a word - copyright. That's why he played something 'similar' to pipeline, I'm sure a guitarist his age knows how it goes. You can't use copyrighted music in an advertisement without paying heavily.
I thought it sounded OK-ish in as much as it did have a bright tonality that was reminiscent of a tank without being too harsh. For all sorts of reasons, I find it unlikely that a digital reverb is ever going to 'booch' or drip convincingly. It sounded quite nice on the country stuff.
I also think it would have been a lot more helpful if he had not used the other pedals with it but had just used the pedal in question between him and an amp.
I'd be interested enough to go and have a play about with one - I liked it's character better than a lot of digital reverb pedalsand it's not practical to take my tank to every non-surf gig.
I bet Fender were delighted that he used a Tele then a Strat yet avoided their brand completely for the demo! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/thepashuns

I completely understand why he couldn't actually play Pipeline, but it's too bad he couldn't demonstrate a little more enthusiasm. Geez. He played as if he were being forced at gunpoint. _________________ In Soviet Russia, guitar plays you. |

I'm sure Fender does -- but this was Boss. If it'd been Fender, he sure wouldn't have been playing a generic Tel-O-Blaster for the Kountry and a G&L for the surf.
