3 bands playing at the SG101 convention.
and 3 bands that aren't playing at the SG101 convention.
Eliminators should have their new cd by then.

This was amazing!!! I was super proud of DP and Stormtiger who played a killer 1st ever set with Don from the Seeds (man can that guy play!) as the new band "Point Doom". They played a blistering version of the Wedge and some really tasty covers, plus 2 very nice originals by Doug (Stormtiger). GREAT JOB! Oh yeah! And Billy Blastoff got up and helped out on a few songs including a great Astronauts medley!
More thoughts about this show later...I have to go to bed and catch a plane home!
SLACKTONE RULES!

I agree, Point Doom sounded pretty good! Actually, all the bands sounded great! I was particularly impressed with the spaghetti stuff I heard during the Eliminators' set. And I think I have never seen Dusty play more intense.

Thank you Brian and Whorehay. We couldn't have dreamed of a better gig for our first. I am overwhelmed by the great responses. So many people said such nice things about us but most of all, Baja Marty gave us his seal of approval and that means the world to me. It was a real pleasure to feed his reverb habit. I have to again thank the Big Tiki Dude for giving us the opportunity.
I thought all the bands sounded even better on Sunday, perhaps because of the smaller venue I could hear everything better. I've seen Slacktone many times and this one was a highlight both in the performance and the set list. For me it doesn't get any better.
It sure is a drag to be back at work.

Doug: I wholeheartedly concur. It's a little nerve-wracking and intimidating to think about "coming out" to a room full of surf afficianados... but, our first gig couldn't have been better. The audience was absolutely supportive, and I believe they "got" what were were doing there...I felt honored and humbled to be invited to such a great gig...
looking forward to the next time Point Doom can get out and play! Absolutely!
