elk amps

It looks and sounds very fenderish !! ! made in japan!! but I dont know when!!! I am going to start to look into it a little more...any info would help thanks.. Top

A lot of the amps and guitars were modeled after Fender equipment. I had the opportunity to buy a "Fender" Bandmaster that was actually an "Elk" with a Fender faceplate. I didn't buy it because A) It wasn't really a Fender and the seller was trying to pass it off as one B) It was too expensive, even if it had been a real Bandmaster C) The vibrato worked in reverse; it was a cool, kind of backwards vibrato sound, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Elk amps are really pretty cool. Elk guitars are even cooler. All of the Elk guitars and amplifiers that I've encountered have been really well-made, good sounding, and great looking gear with great surf appeal.
