| This is a little shorter drive for me than Indy or Champaign. Is there any good and or reasonable places to stay in the area? I'm from Wisconsin so I might suffer from some remote consumer price index shock. I was in the Wicker Park area about 12 years ago after a Link Wray show at the House of Blues and found it to be a fun area.... I might make a whole weekend trip out of it. I don't think the Goose Island brewery is that far away either, is it? |

The last few times I have been up, we have actually had really good luck bidding for rooms on Priceline.com. Good hotels for less than you would pay for the list price of cheaper hotels (try in the "Millenium Park, Loop, Grant Park" area & the "North Michigan Ave. - River North" area). Where you get stuck is the parking...depending on where you are, you can get hit for $40-$50/night. If calling the hotel direct (not doing Priceline), make sure to ask about it (the folks doing reservations never seem to remember that pesky parking charge when quoting rates).
Also, don't completely rule out another Champaign visit in the future...we might be doing something that may tempt you soon- _________________ Jet Sterling, Cosmic Spy

| I'll say it before and I'll say it again, the Champaign show was one of the best I've ever been to due to both bands seemingly having their A games. The venue also helped, which was fantastic. Thinking of Corn Tiki, the star lit sky, and even that bar that seemed to have brews from all over the world really makes me think of summer. We're supposed to get 7 inches of snow today... winter sucks. |

Yep - the stars did literally align that night, eh? That summer night seems like years ago seeing all the snow that got dumped on us last night (with more to come). Maybe the gig on 3/13 will provide the necessary winter escape (no matter what the weather is outside). _________________ Jet Sterling, Cosmic Spy

Actually, what aligned were the drunken bachelorette party girls. That was the key factor why that show was so (forgive me) off-the-hook. _________________ Ivan

C'mon Ivan, I've got to think that my dance moves had something to do with it too. Just check 'em out here with the Cocktail Preachers. I mean, you barely even realize there are women in this video...
