There's a lot of older stuff that I'd like to see re-reissued because the CD Masters sound so thin. Off the top of my head, I'd say that about The Fireballs and (I'm guessing since I never heard any of their vinyl) The Clee-Shays _________________ Storm Surge of Reverb

I'd like to see the Surf Coasters' back catalog reissued.
The Volcanos and Treble Spankers, as well.

Their 3 surf music albums on Decca (Play, Fun City USA and Hit City '64) have been reissued and are still in print and readily available. _________________ T H E - S U R F I T E S |

Yeah I know I can get those as imports, but I'd like to see them released here in the USA by a label like Sundazed. Plus, I want "Hit City '65" and "It Ain't Me Babe." I may get the imports. How are they? Do they have liner notes or bonus tracks? |

I have the 1990 reissue of Fun City USA/Play (Repertoire) which sounds great (close to the original records) and has very nice full page reproductions of the front and back covers for both albums. No additional liner notes but the back covers of course includes the original ones. No bonus tracks.

(Just ignore that the Amazon page says Original Surfaris and naming one of the albums Wipe Out).
I never bought the Hit City '64/Fun City USA reissue from BGO since I already had the Hit City '64 LP (and Fun City USA on the Repertoire CD mentioned above).

Vinnie Bell's "Whistle Stop". Not surf, but I don't know a surf guy that doesn't like what's on it.
Tony Mottola's "Danger" album is another good 'un. Hell, ANY "best of" Billy Strange, Al Ciaola, Vinnie Bell, or Mr. Mottola would be a SWEET thing to have. Someone make it so!

Or how about Jimmy Bryant's "Bryant's Back in Town? |

I would love to see Sundazed put out an ultimate Hondells collection on CD. Yes, I have the original LP's but Sundazed does such a nice job with the liner notes and bonus tracks. Come on, Sundazed! I know you can do it! _________________ Banzai Pipeline, shooting the curl, ten toes over, and he's caught in a swirl... |

A complete Gary Usher box set with the Hondells, Super Stocks, Ghouls, and so on would be even better. _________________ www.kingvoodoo.blogspot.com |

| how about Cowabunga Box with a Disc 5 comprising the best of the Pulp Fiction & beyond. If memory serves, the Disc 4 really only captured some of the early 90s stuff, when there was so much good stuff in the late 90s and early 2000s |

Just out of curiosity, which out of print Double Crown CD's would you like to have reissued?
The Penetrators - Locked & Loaded
The Untamed Youth - Major Chaos
The Apemen - Seven Inches Of Love
Big Ray & The Futuras - Airwaves
The Dynotones - Super Six
It's funny, because a release selling out should be celebrated - it's a big achievement (especially these days). But to be honest, I hate it. I hate not having something available for someone that wants to buy it. I'm proud of all of our releases, and it sucks not giving people a chance to listen to some of the music we've put out. At the same time, for some releases it just doesn't make sense to make more. I've given some thought though to reissuing one, or more of these, and it'd be great to get your thoughts on this. _________________ Sean

Sean,
I would say that all of those, but the Big Ray cd,
are essentials to every-ones personal collection.
but its your call,
and you have to ask yerself,
how well will they sell after you repress them. _________________ Jeff(bigtikidude)
