There was a band around here for a few years called The Hypnotwists that played Spaghetti Western and Garage. May be worth looking into their albums.

This is such a cool thread. I just bought The Hellbenders' "Today We Kill... Tomorrow We Die." Great stuff - though I'd have preferred an all-instrumental album. I also got The Cadillac Hitmen's "Assassin," and the "For a Few Guitars More" compilation. I also downloaded a few selections by The Waterdogs and Huevos Rancheros from iTunes. All of it is great stuff, and will bear repeated listenings. Another band to check out is Atomic 7 (fronted by Brian Connelly of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet). There are typically about four or five spaghetti western type instrumentals on each album. The rest is a mix of Link Wray type stuff and countryish instrumentals. None of it is strictly surf, but all of it is "surfy" if that makes sense. —http://www.reverbnation.com/thedeadranchhands http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZEW74mHjQk Last edited: Jun 24, 2009 12:10:31 |

Yes! Especially the early albums, 'Precious Moments' and 'Pure Diamond Gold' I really like all their vocal stuff too, they have a Johnny Cash meets Ennio Morricone meets the Byrds meets Lee Hazelwood meets Neil Young kinda sound. —Paul |

Looks like it's backordered here: I think I've got at least two of the tracks on other CDs (Los Coronas & Los Twang! Marvels). —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

—Augusto Vite |
