well I'm a super fan of her acting,
but I think She's hot.
I met Rob and Sheri at a Halloween show in LA where the
Ghastly Ones,Bomboras and The Fuzz Tones were playing.
they were both really cool, and into garagy surf.
and it made me realize that there are chick out there that are ok with ugly guys with long hair and Goatees, it just helps if you got lots of money.

ok, right now i am listening to Iron Maidens Chains Of Misery and realizing that Fear Of The Dark is not that good of an album (in my opinion).

I LOVE the way Sheri dance in "Halloween" ... or maybe it's the only thing I love of Rob's Halloween (apart the Michael Myers' youth chapter ...)
anyway .. guess I'm going off topic, I apologize

About the only Maiden I can stomach now is the Di'anno-era stuff. My opinion, they really went downhill starting with Somewhere in Time.

I've got Maiden on tv right now. Rock in Rio.
Di'anno???? Come on, man. Why you gotta hate on Bruce "human air-raid siren" Dickinson??????
Dave Murray Signature Strat out this year. Steve Harris P-Bass as well.

If Maiden is being discussed, its hard to keep quite. I'm sorry.
Di'Anno era Maiden is incredible. I'll put up the Killers album up against any other album in the metal catalog. It is simply devastating. That lineup may never be beat.
The Dickinson era is equally great, but different and cyclical (aka not all good). Up to and including Somewhere In Time, they could do no wrong in my eyes. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son has its moments, but not very cohesive IMHO. After that are the dark years (with a couple of exceptions.)
The Blaze Baily period is the blackest and darkest time for Maiden. Simply unlistenable.
However, the resurgence of Dickinson (Mach II) has produced some really good stuff. Most notable is their latest album, A Matter of Life and Death, which I absolutely love and think is brilliant. Easily their best work since Somewhere In Time or Powerslave (maybe).

I love BD 'cause that's when I got into Maiden. haven't really listened to them for a LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG time, but happened to catch RIR and remembered how much i liked them. Have to start picking up some of the new stuff. Saw them once, many many moons ago. (Powerslave or SIT, I think) Great show.

Staredge, I'm sorry, but that DM strat is an abomination. I guess I'm just feeling anti-humbucker these days... my only axe has one and I can't wait to build/purchase an S-S-S one.
I saw that Rock in Rio special too, just awesome. It got me thinking about the Live After Death double album I bought on Halloween of '86 I think, that I just played the crap out of. (Still have it on vinyl!)

See this lengthy older thread on Iron Maiden
Bruce Dickinson is my god.
Nice old thread Ivan. Having worked with Pilots in my time at NASA, I guarantee you that as soon as the epaulettes go on, he's no longer "Bruce". He's Captain Dickinson. Loved his outspoken position on Ozzfest...

Damn, when coming on board to this forum, I wondered if I was the only guy from a metal background. Preconceptions have been demolished. I have to admit Dickinson, the crochunter-dressin, sword-fighting, plane-driving, banshee-wailer is a pretty flippin cool guy.

Fear of the Dark blows, but it's friggin' Piece of Mind compared to No Prayer for the Dying or either of the Blaze albums.

The one good thing about being at work on a Saturday is I don't have to worry about bumming out my office-mates, who aren't here. So needless to say, today is all about the heavy.

The new Atomic Mosquitos and Barbwires CDs. I'm in heaven! Completely different and both completely insane. Wow, a great way to start the year.

My son introduced me to this guy - not my usual style of listening experience and his playing is inversely proportionate to his dress sense (in other words I like his playing) but it's been a current fascination

I am listening to Mott the Hooples', "Brain Capers". Before that, I was listening to "The Hoople". They may be having a reunion, or, maybe not. No one is sure yet, not even the band!

I'm a wildman about Mott the Hoople! "Brain Capers" is one of my
favotite albums, ever, and probably their most underrated/least
heard albums.
Did you happen to check-out the Ian Hunter & the Rant Band's
DVD/CD, "Just Another Night"? Mick Ralph's joined Hunter's band for
a live reunion at the Astoria in London in 2004 or 2005. At that time
Hunter said the possibiity of a full Mott the Hoople reunion was nil.
I'm glad to hear that they may be reconsidering it.
