Goldfinger movie theme song! Wow, it is cool. I must have forgotten. Gotta learn this one.

ivan p -Imelda Mays second and third albums,( Love Tattoo and Mayhem ) are also amazing!

Right now I have Robert Gordon and Chuck Berry in the deck. original wave to the second wave of classic rock n roll / rockabilly!

I am not obsolete, I am RETRO.... Cool

Today it's The Trashmen, Tube City! The Best of the Trashmen.

Thanks! I've had Mayhem in my Amazon wish list for a couple of years now, but never pulled the trigger. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is quite a bit of trumpet on that album, right? The stuff I heard rubbed the wrong way a bit because of that, didn't impress me as much as this new one - though this one really is incredible. I'll have to explore her back catalog.

I actually saw her perform three songs from Tribal on Later... with Jools Holland, and that sealed the deal on having to get this album. She sounded as good live as she does on record, and what a great band! I think it's her husband on guitar - though I know that Alex Faide of Los Twang! Marvels got to play for her in Germany a few years ago - that would have been something to see!!!

Ivan - there is trumpet on the aforementioned discs. Her husband is also the guitarist on those 2 releases according to the all knowing internet....lol
I haven't heard the new release yet and will have to check it out. I think Buzz and the Flyers is next in the deck. May be a trend here.

Imelda's hubby is Darrel Higham and actually a highly acclaimed solo-artist himself and a superb guitarplayer. My favorite version of Walk Don't Run is by Darrel.

No, Alex played with an other band as support act for Imelda for one gig here in Berlin about three years ago or so. It was good.
Imeldas husband on guitar is also real good on guitar! And Imelda itself is a pleasure to see on stage! The complete band from Imelda was amazing!!!

Twang cheers!

Ah, thanks for clarifying that, Ralf, I must have misunderstood.

Indeed! I guess it's the same band she's had from the beginning. I think they also backed Jeff Beck for that Les-Paul/rockabilly tribute he did a few years ago. Amazing players, every one of them.

Polla Del Mar, Mare Amniotica. I have no idea what that means but if that won't help a less than wonderful day, you might be dead!

I should listen to it, but I've had Dave Wronski's For a Fistful of Dollars stuck in my head after getting very similar tone out of one of Harmony made acoustics and therefor learning part of the song from memory.

One of the best versions of "Pipe-a-lina" I've heard...

New song I've written that is playing in an endless loop in my head-
Walleye Madness, an ode to the mythical fishing obsession on the Great Lakes, pacifically, Lake Erie. They even have a Walleye Drop on New Year's Eve. Like the song says, madness.

Download available. For those who dare. Thanks to Brian for letting another of my 'songs' slip through the net of quality. Fishing analogy!
