Kilaeuas, to celebrate. 'Cause when I got done changing out the old incandescent (hot, barely functioning) lamps in the receiver with LEDs....
I just had to exclaim!

Its Monday morning at work and I need a boost. But not just a quick high energy boost, I need the real thing. Something substantial and cerebral. Something melodic and beautiful. Something with meaning and just a bit of melancholy. Something dark and powerful.
So I'm listening to The Sand Devils' self titled album. The perfect fit for the above mentioned needs!
I am still stoked I got to see them live twice recently. I LOVE their tone and their songs are intricate and infectious. If you don't have this album, you are missing out on one of the best instro albums in recent memory. Unique. Exotic. Beautiful. Powerful. Get it!

Godspeed You Black Emperor just announced an upcoming release at the end of march called "Asunder, Sweet And Other Distress"
I've been listening to a clip of the new album on and off throughout the day. Oh man... this new album is going to be insanely good.
The clip wont post on here. So go to the link http://cstrecords.com/cst111/ to hear it.
Don't know about GYBE? Think long dark & droney instro rock arranged more like classical music than traditional rock songs. Many consider GYBE to be the premier "post-rock" band.
Here is a song of their last album if anyone is interested in their sound.

Friend of mine handed me a stack of release from Sublime Frequencies:
Radio Niger
Shadow Music of Thailand (refers to the influence The Shadows had on them)
Radio Vietnam
