"Dance With The Shadows" original mono lp I picked up in London. Sounds so good-especially the drums! They were recorded so perfectly. Loud and clear!

Yes Thumbs Up Fandango! Zambezi! Temptation! Blue Shadows! I actually think it's the weakest of the first 4-5 Shadows albums, but still great.

I've been listening to my Christmas present, Wings' "Venus and Mars" Archive Collection Deluxe Edition. I love this album! One of my all-time favorites since I was 13.

GREAT CD, Jeff!

ER, I mean BUNCH of CDs! I prefer the Jet stuff myself, but I also preferred the pre '64 stuff.

Yeah! That is an amazing collection, and it can be gotten very cheap. I got Jonpaul to buy it last year, and a few other people.

It's true that the Shadows were the most rocking in their beginning, with Jet, and less and less so as the years passed. But in the period of '65-'67 they still created some remarkable music, even if it was not necessarily rock'n'roll in any real sense of the world. I'd recommend giving it a chance.

And Jeff, I completely understand about their post-'69 output, but there's one exception: their '73 reunion album, "Rockin' With Curly Leads", which I think is absolutely freakin' genius, and a return to rock music in many ways. I don't know what collection you have that goes into the '70s, but if it has any songs from that album, give them another shot. I love 'em!

The other collection I have goes into the 80s I think.

My favorite '14 releases by classic- and hard-rock artists - I love every one of these!! The old guys still got it!

Paul McCartney – “New” (from '13, but I mostly listened to it this past year)
