I wasn't going to chime in on this but now I feel I have to. I've been listening to the Yardbirds' Roger the Engineer for the past week in my car. I can't get enough of it. It's funny, I'll put it away and not listen to it for a few years, then find it again and regret not listening to it in a while. The Nazz are Blue just kills.

late 1970's I had a 69 Econoline with 8track. Played a bootleg 8track of Yarbirds greatest continuously until someone stole the deck with the tape in it. Sigh

8-track! Ah, the memories of songs being cut off in the middle and continued on the next track. Smile

That's a bummer about the tape. I would have loved to hear the bootleg. It's funny that Roger the Engineer is pre-Page, and yet I hear more Led Zeppelin in that collection than in a lot of the Page lineup.

This track is Awesome. Who is this? I've never heard of Sir Richard Bishop.

Awesome Jeremy!
Sir Richard Bishop has been a pretty big influence on me. He is best known as a member of The Sun City Girls. This album is his homage to Omar Khorshid. We cover Solenzara from this album. This album is definitely one of my favorite albums ever recorded.

Here's a cool interview that just came out yesterday:
http://preparedguitar.blogspot.com.es/2014/06/sir-richard-bishop-13-questions.html

This video demonstrates his uncanny ability to improvise in the vein of Omar Khorshid

I'm currently listening to the latest Nels Cline Singers album, Macroscope.
