I got my record player relocated last night next to my new IKEA LP bookshelf (thanks sg101!).

Expedit ist krieg.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

A cover of "Out of Control" by the Mighty Surf Lords off their new one, Into the Surf. Great stuff!

The Tremelo Beer Gut, can't get enough of them. Ever hear a surfband cover Sonic Youth's Death Valley 69? (not on this album, by the way)

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain

I must have listened to this track about 60 times in 3 days. Can't get it out of my mind. To my extreme embarrassment I must confess I wasn't even aware of it a week ago; being allergic to funk I never paid any attention to Funkadelic/Parliament's actual musical production despite their legendary status. Hazel's solo is quite simple and yet so intense... More soulful than anything Hendrix ever played in my opinion.

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

Great tune, Lee. However, please listen to this.

Hmmmm... Sorry, but Eddie Hazel still gets my vote.

I got the new Redd Kross release today called Researching The Blues.

My ears ringing from 6 days of intense surf music,
and Pink Floyd's the wall on VH1 classic in the background.

Right now, reviewing songs for my daughter's daycare graduation. Starting with Wndy Carlos's 'Pompous Circumstances'. But since it's also supposed to be a summer CD, there will be some surf in there, too. And The Name Game, because all the children love it there.

Taking a break from reverb this week, listening to the "Hava Narghile" Turkish rock comp I picked up at the convention. It's pretty rad.

Hot Summer Comes Again!
Let's Go Beach! Let's Go Beach!

Ah yes, that reminds me: surf + Turkish saz = high level of awesomeness

Listening to and learning Killer Dana. Like it a lot by both The Chantays and Banned from the Beach.

How's your digestion now?

I've been playing some of my albums by The Spiders over the last couple of days. Definitely one of the wildest sounding GS bands. Great stuff and as far away from Yngve Malmsten, Iron Maiden and Rush as possibly imaginable, haha.
