No, come to SF - I think it's going to be a killer Surf Sunday! Thumbs Up

Alright, I'll officially add myself to the list. I think my sister wants to see the show too, so she'll probably tag along to the taco party.
Wherever we go is cool by me. I'll just blindly follow the leader.

I will be there in tow with Danny,
yeah where are we going? so I can tell a few of the tiki crowd people
that might wanna go also.

By popular vote, let's meet at La Corneta on Mission Street, here is a Google Map.
Plan is to meet at the restaurant at 12:30, parking might be a challenge so come a little early.
Danny suggested parking at the Fifth and Mission Garage, which may be fairly secure, and then taking BART down to the 24th Street Station. The Fifth and Mission Garage is about 6 blocks from The Utah.
If you are coming up or down 101, take the Cesar Chavez exit West, turn right(North) on Mission Street and La Corneta is between 23rd & 24th.
See you there!

It was an incredible show! Rock

The TomorrowMen came out and blew the doors down, in spite of
Steve's amp breaking down before the show. Danny's Crate Power-
block filled in very nicely. Everybody sounded great on the many
originals and a few covers. This is an awesome high-energy band.

Talk about costumes and stage props, the Pyronauts blew everybody
away with their naked-except-for-diapers, shoes and Gorilla masks-
attire. ROTFL In between fits of laughter ROTFL , we were treated to another
smokin'high-energy performance by this great band. A diaperless
senor Danny played trumpet on their closer, "Miserlou".

Pasta Del Mar came out in sombrero's, cowbody hats, and serapes,
and played a great set of Spaghetti Western inspired music. Ferenc
and Jeff from Pollo del Mar, Ferenc's wife Karen from Messhugga
Beach party, Danny and Tony from the TomorrowMen made up the
band. Pyronaut Paul (with diaper presumably under his pants) joined
them on "Ring of Fire" while Danny played trumpet. In spite of very
little practice, Pasta del Mar nailed their set. I'd love to see Pasta del
Mar play again, and release a CD. It was an AWESOME set.

It was nice to see the ambassador of surf, the Big Tiki Dude, in Nor
Cal again. Everybody left the Hotel Utah with smiles on their faces.

Leave it to Bill to have a four and a half hour band practice that made me miss both burritos and the show!

I had a burrito in everyone's honor, and rocked out at practice while dreaming I was up at the Utah. I know I missed one hell of a show, and I hope this isn't the last we hear of Pasta Del Mar....

~B~

Bill, you have no idea what you missed... Embarassed
I hope somebody posts some pictures... Shocked ....or do I????

Bob, I'm desperately trying to erase those images from my brain, the last thing we need are pictures. Monkey

However, it was funny as hell, and I admire your large cajones to do that, which we're practically in plain view tonight.

All I've got to say is, isn't Bob Bitchin' a beautiful gorilla?

Paul

Bob was the one wearing the full-body suit right?

Oh, wait. Shocked

The Pyronauts are totally fearless... An AWESOME show!!!

And the Burrito session was a blast too-- 12 people, various meats and spices. Big Tiki Dude ate his weight in guacamole and discussed hangover remedies.
Great crowd at the Utah-- fans from all over- LA, San Diego, and Colorado.
Lots of video was shot, hopefully something will get uploaded soon.
Er-- the only thing the Pyronauts did wrong was to take off the Gorilla masks. It's one thing to wear a diaper and a mask, it's another to be caught just wearing a diaper. (After their set, they were selling diapers at their merch table- I wonder how that went.)
Thanks all!

A woman that arrived during the Pasta set asked why there were 2 packages of adult diapers in Large and X-Large sitting there? Not a typical question asked at a surf show. Laughing

I tried to pay people to take the diapers, and I had no takers...

but... one did come in handy on the drive home later that night Smile

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

I dunno where Ferenc got the idea I ate that much guacamole , but I did have about 1 cup of it, and Salsa too, That place was pretty good.
Most everybody got to hear the Santana esque stylings of the band, but got there after they played more traditional mexican radio standards.

I hope the image of the Pyronauts in Diapers can be erased from my mind. Unfortunately I have Photographic memory. where is the erase button. I think Bob grew all the body hair in reaction to cutting the hair on his head awhile back, hopefully that is in reversal now.

It was great to meet some newer sg101 people like Jet Blue, and Wooza,
and there better halves. Smile also great to see some longtime friends again.
I really enjoy going to Nor. Cal. to get to see some bands that don't or might not play So. Cal. and see the Local surf fans, and get there take on the scene. It definitely needs a shot in the arm up there, like it does here.

Really enjoyed all 3 bands a lot.
The Pasta del Mar Blew me away.
Hope they keep doing that.
and Bring it out on tour even , maybe.

I would Like to Thank Lava Bill for picking me up from the airport,
and taking me to a few places on my eating and drinking marathon, on Sat. Then Danny taking over duties Sat Afternoon, and getting hammered with me Sat night at Forbidden Island. (Go there, you'll thank me later). And Letting me crash at his pad. You and Adrian(sp?) are the best. and Then Doug Snyder for taking me to the Tonga Room and the airport Sun nite. after the Hotel Utah show.

Great times, and hope to be back for the Meshuggah beach party cd release party on Dec 2nd.
