also I thought that the mix of Eliminators and Eddie was a good one.
Hope to see many shows with them in the Future, and more songs.

As Tim and Jeff said above...you had to be there! It's excellnet on video...but awsome in real life. I'm always impressed by Eddie's playing, and backed by a good band like the Eliminators his intesity really comes through. The previous time I saw Eddie play was backed by The Ghastly Ones (and I think also Outer Wave) at Kristena's party...needless to say that was also an experience to remember.

Thank you all for your kind comments regarding the surf-o-rama show. It was great to be a part of the event......
Special thanks to The Eliminators for their hard work and rehearsal time. They made it possible for me to relax and enjoy the moment.
Big thanks to my close friend Tim for coming out sick and filming the show.
And JR for letting me use his Showman Amp. Made it possible for me to play out of two Showman Heads and Four D-130s.

Warm Regards,

Eddie

Eddie, can you explain to us why you use 2 Showmans? Is it just for volume? Most clubs I play in can't even handle my one Showman.

Thank you for your participation Eddie.
You played great! Your sound and volume was perfect! Your showmanship was very electrifying. The show was a huge success!
Thank you, very much

((((More Reverb))))

Jerry,

It was my pleasure...Thanks again for making your amp available to me...saved me having to haul my amps down to the show...and it had great tone.

Sincerely,
Eddie

PS My Gomez tank responded well too.

Eddie your reverb sounded fantastic! Just curious, was anyone else playing out of your tank that night? The only reason I ask is that your tone was noticeably drippier than most.

It was so awesome to meet you Eddie, and was a real highlight of my trip to S. Cal.
Thank you for asking me to sit at your table, as I got to meet so many of surf's superstars.

I keep staring at my Strat that was signed by you, and Paul, David Arnson, Dave Wronski, and John Blair. I feel that Strat is now priceless!

I would love to hear what you think of my new CD, and have a thread posted in General Discussion for it.
I hope to see you in June when I bring MSL down to your area.

Hey Ryan,

I was the only one that used my tank. Gomez did a good job building the "G-Spring".....Glad you liked the sound.

Eddie

Thanks for the props Eddie and Ryan. Eddie, you played magnificently. Congrats! dman

Hi All and Eddie !
This is my first post on this forum, i've been visiting for 6 months or so but only got around to joining today.

I friend of mine gave me a cd of various mid 60s garage 45s he'd collected over the years, one has Come on Babe - Eddie and the Showmen, not surf, more garage/folk rock, i like it alot.
Any onfo on it, when/where it was recorded?, what gear did you use? etc

Hi "Twinfin"
Sorry it took so long to respond to you. Cool name by the way.
You nailed it....it was an attempt at folk rock. Never was released officially only a small project that had 5 or 6 six songs privately released. Very rare if you can find it.
I think I used a Gretch "Country Gentleman" and a Fender Super Reverb.
Thanks for the post.
Regards,
Eddie

I've read through this whole thread, and I know it's been said before, but how cool is it that Eddie Bertrand posts on this site?

You're the best, Eddie. I'm a big fan.

Don't forget, Eddie is the headliner for this show. Come out, see Eddie and support a great cause.

Leadership Hermosa Beach’s class of 2008 is pleased to announce they will be hosting an event to support the Hermosa Beach Surf Legends Gateway Fountain project. The proceeds from this exciting Surf themed event will go towards the commissioning of a beautiful bronze fountain statue designed by artist Phil Roberts. The location of the fountain will be at the Hermosa Beach Community Center on the southwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Pier Ave. This location is Hermosa Beach’s Gateway to the City and the fountain will be a monument to our city’s surfing heritage. The event will include fabulous food, a no host bar, two popular surf bands, “The Eliminators”, along with surf guitar legend Eddie Bertrand, and local band “Thin Ice”, featuring Body Glove’s own Russ Lesser, surf videos and an incredible silent auction. The event will be held this summer at Sangria at 68 Pier Avenue, on Sunday June 29th, from 2pm to 7pm. Tickets go on sale for $35.00 before the event and $ 45.00 at the door. For more information about silent auction items, the event, sponsorship, tickets or the artist go to:
