Permalink Kill,Baby...Kill! changing name and a bit more...

New Topic

I have been away from here for a while, but wanted to drop in with a bit of news.

Over the years Kill,Baby...Kill! has had a bit of an issue with sharing a name with a former White Power band out of Belgium. For the longest issues were minimal. But at the end of 2014 we ran into some road blocks that made it painfully obvious that we needed to make a change.

Thankfully, this also came at a time when we were starting to run out of steam and needed to look for new inspiration anyway.

Anyway...we are now going to be working under the name of THE KBK (I know...not a huge change). And with that, we are taking some months off from performing to do a bit of a reinvention to coincide. Look for us in Late July or August with a lot new to offer.

Enjoy the hiatus, Noah. Whatever name your band goes by, the music will take me places I didn't know existed. I eagerly look forward to the next adventure in sight and sound.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Good luck with that; sounds like it was the right thing to do in the interest of movin' on.

Only a few more months!

I remember searching for your music online one time, I did get a little scare when that other band started screaming in my brain. Not surf at all... Shocked Shocked Shocked Not too shabby hardcore though, for what it's worth...
It's too cool a name to be wasted like that... that's quite a shame.
Who's giving you trouble? Is the PC crowd running amok once again?
Good luck to you.

Dread, it was a combination of things occurring over years. But two situations that we ran into late last year and early this year sealed the deal.

  1. When organizing a food bank benefit for a local charity, the organization we were working with refused to put their name on the event out of fear of controversey.

  2. Early this year our music was pulled from Itunes during a purge of "hate rock" from their store. We got caught in the shuffle when they removed the other "kill, baby, kill". It took a bit of work to correct the situation.

  3. Al Jazera network contacted us earlier this year confusing us for the other bands.

  4. And for years, when booking shows in unfamiliar areas, we have received comments that there was confusion.

"The KBK" kind of reminds me of an off the record government agency program like Project MKultra. And, I thought maybe you guy's had a cultist theme, also? Perhaps you could flesh it out a bit with something like...

Project KBK - Project KBKult - Project KBKill - Killa'Bama Kult -

Anyway, good luck with the name change. Stop off at Ridgeway is a really cool track.

You guys make awesome music. I'm on board for new tunes regardless of what you call yourselves.

Thanks, guys. There will be new developments in the coming few months. And we hope to be back on stage by the end of summer delivering a new apocalyptic testament. As far as new recordings go, we don't move fast. There is new music in the works that we are very proud of and that takes us in some interesting new directions. When we will manage to find time to get into the studio remains to be seen.

KBK, thanks for the reply, I get it, no reason for controversy when none intended... Unfortunate, but a good name has to work in the real world.

Next time Al Jazera contact you, pretend to be those other guys... who knows what hilarity could ensue....

I enjoy your music.

I've seen you talk about the confusion so this is definitely a good move. I'm psyched for "bit more" part
