I am in Bardon...looking to learn some stuff and find some muso's next year.

Since you're in Bardon you could always visit these guys
http://www.brisbaneshadowsplayers.com/

They are meeting here today
ENOGGERA BOWLS CLUB
72 Pickering St (Corner of Bowling St)
Enoggera QLD 4051.

Cheers Martin

Thanks Martin. I did look into them awhile ago but will revisit them. I think they have alot of regulars.
Have you played there?
Thanks for the help.

I used too.I found them a bit clicky and Insular and I got fed up hearing "Apache" murdered at least 3 times on a Sunday afternoon. Besides no body wanted to play Surf music unless it was "pipeline" or "reef Break". These days I play solo Instrumentals and Jazz

What's wrong with "Reef Break" (said with a smile)

My mate Ben Rogers http://benrogers.com.au/ told me recently that the Melbourne instro scene is picking up.

What solo stuff? With backings? Also what jazz?

Usually re-arranged tunes by the Eliminators, Aqua Velvets ,Ventures, Shadows and my own Jazz arrangements. Played with my Gretsch or epi Dot no backing, just sone delay and moduilation and sometimes a looper through my vox AC15 or 30
