I am curious if Avonanova will be playing rhythm on these dates or not. I noticed that Johnny Browning returned to Rhythm duty after a long absense at the Guitar Geek festival.

Not sure of the lineup KBK, Brian mentioned that Robert DelBueno will be playing bass on tour but that was all he mentioned.

Birdstuff(Teasley), Starcrunch(Causey), and Coco(DelBueno) will always be a constant. However, their rhythm player tends to be interchangeable. In 2010 they came back with Johnny Browning(Victor Vector) on rhythm. Then he suffered a near death experience after a West Coast Tour. Between that and him being routed in Canada, they brought on Avonanova on rhythm. Until the recent Guitar Geek Festival that was the lineup for the past few years. I had wondered if Johnny would ever come back into the fold, as he had told me a few years back that he and Avonanova would be sharing duties as their schedules would permit.

From their facebook page

Earth people-
I have just been released from a 2 year cryo-sleep. Somebody forgot to remove my Facebook privileges! I'm looking forward to seeing you guys at the Deke Dickerson Guitar Geek Festival this Friday. Try to forgive my haggard appearance, after such a long time frozen, I kind of look like Charlton Heston before he shaved in Planet of the Apes. -

edit: ah, this was already known, whoops

Coco was not at the Geek Fest, his wife or GF was having a Baby.
some guy that looked similar to him, but longer hair was playing.
They called him Coco 2.1.6.4 or something like that.

Bummer about no San Diego show,
I know a certain Englishman that lives down there,

Total bummer Cry

Looks like I’ll be making the trek to LA for this show too. Between this and the Norton benefit I’ll be making laps to LA. Smile

Well not really it just takes a lot to get me out San Diego and shows like moam and the Untamed Youth will do it every time. Heck Yes Yes

You're really lucky to have Secret Samurai as a local band though !! Smile

And I'll be at the MOAM LA show and probably at the SF show (based on their last Echo show).

Yes, I believe Rob wasn't playing the show due to maternity issues. They had brought in Coco(Minor Bug fix) at their Atlanta New Years show to break him in.

I dunno if I wanna go,
I was really happy with the sound at the Geek fest,
and really unhappy with the sound at the Echo the last time they played there.

Hi everybody,
I need a little insight from LA folks.
I've never been to a show at the Echo before. Will this sell out and should I buy a ticked now this far in advance? In general what’s the story on this venue? big, little, tiny, dirty rock n roll bar, huge???
Just curious.

Thanks for any info,
Nick

Not sure how familiar you are with LA/Hollywood venues. Its smaller than The Palace, The Music Box (now called The Fonda I think), and the Palladium. Way bigger than the Viper Room or El Cid or the Key Club. Its about as wide as the El Rey, but not as deep.

Last MoAM show at the Echo was sold out and no tickets were available at the door, so I wouldn't put it off too long.
