I love the neck, I'm planning to change the stock PU can you give me some advices? I'm not a Strat guy either but for the price this guitar is awesome. Please upload your stratomaster I wanna see your mod
Still a work in progress. Working on the wiring at the moment, as I want to implement a neck+bridge switch. The neck pocket is slightly too deep for the Squier neck so I'll have to cut a flat shim too.
The body is from a Jack & Danny JM-10. It's a very cheap but pretty decent guitar. Still, the neck, pickups and hardware from the CV50s are a definite improvement.
As I said I'm not really a Strat guy so I don't have much experience with them and I'm not really qualified to give you advice about pickups. I'm pretty sure there is plenty of information about them on the forum though. FWIW I'm quite happy with the ones from the CV50s -- apparently they're Tonerider Surfaris.
What a pretty nice looking guitar! Good luck with your mod and please upload the picture when you have finished it

Not my main rig but after this morning it could be.....holy cow!
'73 Princeton Reverb w/12" speaker
'63 Silvertone 1473 Bass amp w/15" speaker
'66 Teisco made Silvertone 1436 guitar
Zoom MS-50G - Reverb and split to amps.
Wow.
Just Wow!
The Spring Reverb in the MS-50 is not bad at all, especially if you add some pre-delay to simulate drip.

Here is my main performance rig. Two ZT Lunchbox amps each with a 12" extension speaker. The cabs for these speakers were taken from defunct 1960s Japanese combo amps. In the gap where the electronics lived I put the band's name. For small venues I leave the extensions home, or bring 1 lunchbox + 1 extension. For tiny venues just 1 lunchbox.
I usually bring 2 of these 4 guitars to a gig. The USA Steinie has a coil split circuit for traditional single coil sounds, and its buckers are twangy besides. Its treble and bass pots have active boost as well as cut.
The dark red guitar has 6 pickups including a Roland 6-coil pickup to drive a VG8 effects box. Each of the other 5 pickups is from a different maker, and one is a compact bucker. The bright red guitar has the same setup as the dark red sans Roland. I customized these myself. Bridge pickups are surfy on all 4 guitars. Switching on the red guitars allows every pickup singly, and almost all combinations of two pickups.

Been playing this one here for the lat few weeks. I think I like it. Got them new 65 pickups in there and all that. Pretty sweet sound.

Really nice, Trey! Sonic Blue on a JM is not the most common sight, but it sure looks stellar. (I might need to scratch the JM itch at some point, I've never owned one.)

Thanks, Michael. Yes, you should really scratch the Jazzmaster itch! It feels good.

Here's my rig. The amp is a tech21 trademark 60. A great, versatile, and reliable amp with a Great spring reverb. And plenty loud enough. I'm a big fan of reverend guitars. I've had this Reeves Gabriel's signature model for only a few months, but I can tell you it's an incredible player. On the floor I have an xotic ac+, a Mesa Boogie flux five, a tc electronics polytune (best stage tuner EVER!) and a voodoo labs tremolo. It's a pretty untraditional set up, but it gives me everything I need. It can go from Fender clean sparkle to Link Wray - the amp is gonna explode mayhem - and a bunch of other flavors of overdrive In between.

Should finally post one of these now that the CVR "dominates" the room upstairs (except for the spare bed & a bunch of HF radio equipment).
Gonna spruce up the Champ just a little for its Golden Birthday in a couple of months. Don't need much else; gonna hit some yard sales this spring mostly record-searching. Maybe someone there or on CL real local will be selling one of those "horrible, trebly, ugly" Squier VM Jags to go with the JM. Pretty happy with these toys.

Thanks! Yep, still have it all, but I don't use it anymore, kinda. Patrick, the other guitarist in the Madeira, has been using the Showman since '09 (when I got the Gomez Surfer). The RI reverb unit has been my backup since I got the Gomez G-Spring, also in '09, but I don't think I've had to use it a single time since then. (I do still use it for recording, since I use a 2-amp setup, so each amp gets its own reverb unit.) And the '97 Shoreline Gold '62 RI Strat has gotten a LOT of use over the years, but has now been mostly replaced by my '08 Ice Blue Metallic '62 AVRI and more recently by the '12 Dakota Red '65 AVRI. My cup truly runeth over!
Anyway, thanks again!

Some politician once said, "Ya know, at some point you've got enough Strats..."
Hah! What do they know?
