Are these made in China or Indonesia?

Indonesia I imagine. That's where the other VM's are made.

so not cool. all i wanted was the jag.

What's "Modified" about them? They look like "Classic Vibe" to me, or did they label them VM because they're MII?

frets and fretboard radius, i guess.

Also the Duncan pickups. Those are the same ones that are on the vm that I bought a few months ago. It will be interesting to me to see what the switching does as compared to mine.

and the bridge?

but i AM concerned.. i really want that jag!

The Jag and JM will have a standard JM bridge. None of them are available yet, so they probably just haven't added the Jag to their site yet. I have a hunch they won't be officially unveiled until summer NAMM...meaning it will be late summer before we can get any of em.

I'd like to see a comparison or "showdown" if you will between the vintage modified squier j/m vs the J. Mascis squier j/m on youtube. I would hope the Mascis j/m would win (yes I own one) Wink

I called Fender's largest retailer yesterday and noobody knows anything about them.I expect late summer with a sell price of $349.00 based on the MSRP.

Inland Pipeline

I stand corrected on the bridge.

Some people on the other forums have said that they were watching the Fender site on friday and first the mustang was up, a few hours later the jazz. but notice they only have one image, one color of them up. Not all colors of those models. So it looks like they just upload as they do them, instead of a complete upload all at once. Hopefully this week we'll see the jag.. and the guitars themselves very soon.

There are tons of info/speculations on these guitars on OffsetGuitars.com.

Howdy... This is my first post here. As an owner of both a VM and JM Jazzmaster I can honestly say there is no "win" between the two. They're both great guitars. They're just different. Both great quality. Both feel and play great. The VM, while being the least traditional of the two has the more traditional Jazzmaster sound.

Of course I'm talking about the current version of the VM and not the anticipated new version coming out. Laughing

Hi. Welcome to the site. Nothing like diving right in. I expect everyone caught that and appreciate the comparison. I'm sure not very many people have both the earlier VM and J. Mascis JM. I am sure everyone hopes the new VM JM is at least as good as they are.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Just saw that ALL new vintage models of Jazzmaster as well as Jaguar are now listed!

Who will be first to get one..

Someone on Offset Guitar messageboard posted a pic of the Jaguar in Surf Green at Sam Ash... price was $299. Yowza!!!! I went into Guitar Center last night and they did not have it nor know when they would get them in. I will be going to Sam Ash tomorrow or Sunday to check there. I will be buying a Jaguar and possibly another Jazzmaster. Already have the JM JM and I LOVE it.

I'm ordering a Jag as soon as it's available.
