Does high tide have paul johnson?

That'll be a lot of work putting all those pounding surf drums on the pier stage & then take them off for outerwave, unless they put the drums on the grass right in front of the stage.

Dusty Watson just tweeted through Reverbnation that he is doing a show at Pier Plaza this Sunday, 6/3, but only listed 11am as the start time. That's the time that bands start playing but does anyone have any idea what time Dusty will be playing? I don't see Slacktone listed that day but maybe he is guesting with someone else. Much as I'd love to I can't be there for the entire 6 hours.

Dave,
Not sure about Paul, come and find out.
Don't worry about the drums, were professionals we can handle it.
Wink

Ben,
Dusty is playing in the Pounding Surf portion,
noon-ish is their play time.

Be careful following the masses. Sometimes the "M" is silent...........................

Max gets better every time I see him. Really great show by everyone yesterday. It's been a while since I'd seen Outerwave and I forgot how great they sound.

Hot Summer Comes Again!

agreed!
wish the turn out would have been better,

but I loved the non scorching temps.

Press release for July 15th show at HB surfing museum.

Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum Presents:
Surfin’ Sundays Summer Concert Series
Date: Sunday July 15th, 2012
Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

This concert is dedicated to HBISM friend and road crew member “Baja” Marty Klenz who recently passed away from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and other serious health issues. We send our deepest sympathy to Marty’s wife Letty, his family and all his many friends.

This year in celebration of our museum’s 25th Anniversary we invite you to join in the festivities and help celebrate 16 years of great music, from dedicated musicians who donate their precious time in support of the museum. Our concert lineup features oldies but goodies and promising newcomers from around the world as well as guitar legends such as Dick Dale, Dean Torrence, Bob Spickard, John Blair or Paul Johnson occasionally dropping by.

SURFIN’ SUNDAYS BANDS:
THE BREAKAWAYS:
Having played during Surfin’ Sundays for many years these incredibly sharp players of classic surf music are the Premier Surf Band in Orange County and their 100 years of experience as musicians really comes through. Anyone who plays knows how hard it is to deliver an accurate pick attack, smooth even string bends, slick well-timed slides and tasty whammy treatments. The Breakaways have to be proclaimed Numero Uno in this department.” The Breakaways specialize in playing surf music by the Ventures, Dick Dale, The Chantays, Jim Fuller’s Surfaris, and the Sandals’ Endless Summer as well as their own originals.

THE REEFRIDERS:
The Reefriders from Northern California have been entertaining music fans throughout California with their solid surf-style sounds. The three-piece instrumental guitar band serves up quite a collection of surf music including hits from the classic early 60s surf bands like the Ventures, the Astronauts and the Bel-Airs, to the red hot scorching sounds of Dick Dale. Covering surf classics like Pipeline, Misirlou, and Surf Party, the Reefriders take their audience on a joy ride through time with wild music as popularized in the movie Pulp Fiction as well as some of the more mellow tunes.

HBISM 25th ANNIVERSARY “SHARE THE SPIRIT” T-SHIRTS, LOGO MUGS, LOGO TOTE BAGS, BAND CD’S AND MERCHANDISE WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING THIS CONCERT!!!
